The shortfall I see in Skyrim is that there is not much follow-up with the NPCs. I like that there aremany NPCs, but they do not seem to react enough to actions the player takes- I attempted to make a mod to add more text to trigger based on character actions later in the game--I was trying to make over the original escaped-to village- adding quests and development to arise organically based on actions enacted elsewhere in the game world- so you could always return there as a constant that demonstrates how far you have come and you could see the effect you had on people, but I could not figure out how to reliably work with their scripting system.
