One of our groups players (Hangfire) posts on your forums and him and I both agree that you guys have a wonderful setup. You have every feature that we would like to have in our board and then some. I am seriously considering migrating our forum to e107 forum system. Is there any way I could get a list of the plugins you have available to you to make the play by post system work.

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks!

There are a lot of bugs and security issues in e107, as a precaution. I'll let brainface and Ish explain further, but if you still want to migrate to e107, they'll probably accommodate you.

Well, two main things you should consider:

One - plugins actually aren't what make this site so neat.  What makes it so neat and unique (in terms of software and such) is the amount of work brainface has put into the site.  He's our resident techie, and he has written a lot of the scripts for the site, as well as programmed much of the bbcode and dice functions, as well as various tags available.  I say this to let you know, if you used e107 and just started downloading plugins, you wouldn't find this particular set-up; you would need someone with a very good knowledge of php, html, javascript, etc.

Two - as Eldo said above, e107 has a ton of security issues, some of which are not so big a deal, but some of which can seriously harm your site.  Brainface has done a lot to take care of some of these, but many are in the inner coding of the software, and thus, basically unfixable until the e107 creators decide to fix them (which they seem to be extremely slow about).  With that being said, we are going to be changing CMS's in the near (near is an extremely relative term here) future, and I honestly do not recommend getting into e107.  You can really get many of the same effects with any forums software, like phpbb, smf, vBulletin, etc, as long as you have someone doing the work that knows what they're doing; and all of those I just listed, I would recommend head-over-tails above e107.

Hope that helped in some way.  Good luck!

Right now we run vBulletin, I can probably find everything but the dice roller there. The support for a dice roller of vbulletin seems to be lacking. Thanks for the info tho Ish I will let our group know.
