What kind of tech level are you looking at for your world, since it is recovering from an ice age? How did the peoples you mention deal with this period--did some form of civilization exist during it?

Hmmm.... Intriguing. What kind of video game? Strategy? RPG? MMORPG? I'm curious, as it will effect my critiques. Also, there are 15 races, not 14.

Off the top of my head:
- So basically, the Ice Age is ending, and civilization is springing up. And as the Ice melts, stuff is uncovered. Well, what happened before the Ice Age? Another civilization? Jurassic era Dinos?  My vote is for an ancient civilization, mighty beyond belief, that caused it's own demise through my favorite means, complete and utter debauchery.

-So, why are the alliances holding together? A lot of the races all desire the same resources, so it would make sense to ally with someone who needs different resources, but from the same area. Also, the Dark and EEevil  alliance seems likely to collapse. And the Dark Elves (assuming that they're anything like the drow) seem very likely to join (or conquer) the EEevil alliance.

-What exactly are the Ahktar?

Ahktar are a cat-human race.
Tech level will be very low, like standard D&D settings such as Forgotten Realms.
Ah, I see you have gotten to the Dark Elves. No, these are not your regular dark elves. They are simply called dark elves because they live in the darker places of the jungles and forests. They are actually the most strongly good-aligned elves as a people.
And I was headed full steam ahead on my designs for the ancient civilization. They will be called the Dergoth, and relics from their age are being uncovered as the colossal glaciers recede.
It will be a RPG first, then make its way into MMO. I can give you a little information on it:

It will have classes and races, the classes will branch off into other ones at different levels. In the end (we have calculated this) there will be over 1000 class-race combinations, not even taking in the possibilities that talents will offer. The talents won't be like World of Warcraft, where there are 1 or 2 good combinations and all the rest no one will ever use. No, they will not make or break your PvP/Raids. They are solely ment for further customization. If this makes no sense, more will come later.

What type of settlements?  How large?

Lots of intelligent races, what sort of popualtion density?
Are the alliances really fixed, or is their some lattitude there?

That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

Higgs Boson

There are some large cities, mostly in one continent, which has been the least icy of this ice age, so most of the humanoids made their homes there. The population is very dense on the one aforementioned continent, but extremely sparse in the rest of the world. The civil and magi alliances are very fixed, but the evil and tribal often have infaction conflicts. Maps coming tomorrow.
