According to Wikipedia...

George R.R. Martin's next Song of Ice and Fire book should be out in September/October 2009. (2 more after that planned)_
and Brian Sanderson could not wrap up Wheel of Time in one book [no big surprise... there was no way Jordan could possibly have done it right in one book, what with his proliferation of characters (!)] So there will be three books. Release Date November 3, 2009.

Are there any other good fantasy books in series on the horizon to be released?

The Malazan Book of the Fallen, series by Steven Erikson still has 2-3 more books to go.

Dresden Files has a bunch of books, I just started the series but have heard good things about it from several sourcse (including Vreeg).

Brian Sanderson has another series, the Mistborn series that I prefer over the Dresden Files. Mind you the latest book just game out.

The third book in Alan Campbells Deepgate Codex just came out. Scar Night, the first one is great imo.

Patrick Rothfuss, who wrote The Name of the Wind, one of my favorite books, should be releasing the 2nd novel soon.

Butcher's Dresden stuff is a little weak in the first few books (the first Dresden Book was his first published book), but they get better and better.  I just fimished Turn Coat, the latest, and the interplay between powerbases and the intrigue are really fist rate.
(also his ideas on magic are graft-worthy.  In TurnCoat, look at the idea of 'Intellectus' and Harry's making DemonReach Isle his sanctum.  I thought Butchyer stole that one from me!)

That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. Mistborn was one of my favorite series. But the trilogy is already complete, so it's not really "coming soon." Sanderson (FYI it's Brandon, not Brian) does have a book called Warbreaker coming out next month.

The last book in the Long Price Quartet is coming out in July.

I think he said that the estimate that it's coming soon comes from Amazon making up a release date.

I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing SoIaF or Rothfuss this fall.
Latest Release: Echoes of Angels

Ah, thanks for the corrections Phoenix. I could have sworn Rothfuss said that he was done the entire triogy before he got it published, and that he had finished the draft for the 2nd book, with a preview copy. I think he posted a pic on his blog or something, guess I was mistaken.

Ah, I didn't know Mistborn was only a trilogy, I just bought the 2nd book. And yes, Brandon Sanderson, not Brian that's my bad.

As for more books, K. J Parker just released a new standalone novel, The Company. Its really good.

Robert Morgan of noir-scifi fame has just released a new novel, its noir-fantasy-ish. Its called The Steel Remains.

For the new weird crowd not too long ago Steph Swainston had a new book not too long ago (well, last summer I think? so maybe a while, wow time flies) but a new book is going to be published this fall I think.
