It's a pretty grim world that I've used several times to run campaigns.  Several interesting things about the world (in my opinion) are that the Gods are all dead, it is constantly cold, all humanoids must be mutilated after death so they don't come back as undead, and it has many sub-races of the standard fantasy races.

I figured the God of Death, Mwerkef is of course dead, and that messes with how humanoids die.

It has its inspiration in all of the George Romero zombie movies however.  hehe.

Another thing is there is no afterlife, so all of the souls of dead humanoids wander the ice and snow.  That's why I say on the front page, "Even death does not free you from the cold."

It's also a dying world, as it is constantly getting colder and colder.

It's a happy place, hehe.

what do you mean when you describe a kindom with an alignment?  I've seen this done before, but never done it myself.  Does it mean that is the philophical bent of the people, or the direction of the government?

That's actually a good question.

I guess it's just a general overview of the area, but it mainly deals with the government.

But part of me wants to say both, but I would say more of it is the government.

But how well do the people respond to that government? Or do you mean perhaps that these are the general social tendencies? For example I would describe the average kingdom in George Martin's Westeros as neutral, while I'd describe say Donaldson's The Land as Lawful Good.

Some of the people in the Evil governments try to bring them down and rebel against them, but normally die from trying, horribly.

In thinking about it, I would say that some of the kingdoms have evil governments, and that people fight it, but not successfully.

Other kingdoms just seem to have people that are more prone to evil acts, and would have an evil culture.

In thinking about it, I should probably just take off the alignment from kingdoms, as it treats something complex simply.

Thanks for pointing that out.
