Help with videogame hardware

In my moment of need, I turn to my favorite online geek community for help with a problem I'm having.

I have recently acquired a Nintendo Gamecube for personal use, but I don't actually have a television to play it on.  I'm fairly sure there is a way to play this console using my laptop (Macbook Pro, 15" Widescreen) as a monitor, but the details elude me, despite a few google searches and inquiries among IRL acquaintances.  If someone could help identify the proper adapters or converters and the procedure that would make this possible, they'd have my gratitude, and an IOU for help on the religion/deity section of their CS.

If it helps, I think this may be of some use, if you don't already have an S-Video outlet.

Edit- oops, I meant this. That first one is output, which would help hooking you Macbook to a TV. By the way, I'm not sure I trust the site I linked to this time, but the product fits your needs. Try seeing if you can find it on another site.

Edit #2- Nevermind. This one is quite a bit pricier, but the site is trustworthy. Very trustworthy. It usually gives really great deals, too, which makes me even more suspicious of the other link.

I've looked at Wal-Mart, but I'm really not an expert at this sort of thing, and buying adapters one by one at $20 each until something worked seemed like a poor choice of action.

If you still need a cable even after buying the DVD Maker, they're not that expensive. Wal-Mart or Radioshack should have the cables for about $5, and that's if you decide to get the really pretty cables. Either way, though, you don't have an S-Video port, which means that the cable by itself won't do a lick of good.

I'd guess the DVD Maker is your best bet, at least short of getting a TV, but I'd expect a bit of awkwardness from that solution (IE: possibly having to play your games through a movie-making program). If it doesn't work, however, that site has a wonderful return policy.

I recall seeing some S-video to DVI adapters at fry's, and I recently just picked up an almost universal console adapter after a bunny chewed through my Playstation 2's connectors in the middle of re-playing FF9 from Fry's. I can't find it online now, as the Fry's site isn't working for me, but they should have them all in one section, and for under 20 bucks.

The DVI is out, not in. I had the same thought, but decided it wouldn't work.

Of course, if Mr. Of Montague here has a computer monitor that can plug into his laptop, that adapter would work. If he has a computer monitor that doesn't plug into the Macbook, he probably wants an S-Video to VGA adapter. Since the connector you showed for your Gamecube was composite, you may want a composite to S-Video adapter.

Of course, now that I think of it, this only deals with the issue of graphics. Rose, how important is sound?
