So I don't know if anyone has ever heard of this, but November is National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo from here on out) which is probably the greatest thing ever done. I want to start an initiative here on the boards to get a group of people writing. Now is the time to be brainstorming, since it's two months away, that's what I've been doing. I have a pretty unique idea ready that I've shared with Xeviat. What do you all think?

If you have never heard of Nanowrimo, it's the idea that within all of us lies the makings of a great novel. And all it takes is the intense drive to do it. You write a little over 1,000 words a day, and at the end of the month finish with a 50,000 word novel. My goal is to post my writings on here so anyone can read the rubbish I'm cranking out. And if we work together then we can push each other.

I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. ;)

It would be cool. One of the key strategies in Nanowrimo is to tell everyone you are writing a novel, because then they will say "So, how's that novel coming along" and guilt into writing more.

Eladris

That's certainly one way of forcing yourself to write!

Best of luck on this. Hope you all succeed.

So is anyone else interested in Nanowrimo?

My wife is talking hard about doing it.  Our computer should be up and running by the first or second week of October, just in time.  I admit I'm jealous but I won't have time this year or probably next as I'm working full time and in school for 16 credits this quarter and 12-15 for each of the next 6 quarters.  What 'region' are you in?  We are in Seattle.  She's tremendously shy but is trying to work her courage up to do one or two of the regional meet-ups.  Sounds fun.  I suppose December is National Novel Editing Month, eh?
