I haven't been especially active here of late while I pour over GURPS mechanics to retool Panisadore for campaign play. (I've been posting a lot in sjgames' GURPS forum to facilitate this.) While I would be certain of plenty of interest and feedback for DnD krunch, I don't know if there are very many here familiar enough with GURPS mechanics to follow/comment on such posts or any who would be interested in them. The system provides means to model game effects of much more detailed physiological and social/cultural differences which in DnD would be limited to role-playing flavor ideas with slight bonuses to one or two skills at most, so I'm expanding racial descriptions somewhat to take advantage of this, e.g., what it means in actual play that humans are the result of orkh/elf interbreeding or that dwarves abhor killing will be much more explicit. This also opens the door for fuller-flavor in the role-playing concepts themselves - I can do a lot more with khurpakh as a distinctive Khurorkh cultural trait for instance.

Anyway, I'm just looking for some quick feedback to see if any here would be interested in posts of the various krunchy bits as I work on them. At present I'm doing a lot with the different sense capabilities and perceptions of the various races as well as their more defining socio-cultural characteristics, but this stuff is about 90/10% GURPS specific krunch/flavor. If not (or not much), I'll simply hold that off until completed revisions are ready to post and put the actual character construction templates behind spoilers for those who want to see the whole package of the mechanics reflecting the concepts.

I am ordering my Gurps books through amazon soon, I might be able to help, although I will be a complete noob at the system.

Well, I too am learning GURPs, so I would greatly appreciate any of you other slackers out there talking it up in here so I can reap the benefits of a lurker.

Thanks.  !turtle

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

GURPS is one I've been interested in but never learned. If I have the chance to get back into gaming, it'll be one I order.

Well I'm working on racial templates now and later will be dealing with how, among all the various options, to implement magic forms. I'll start posting here what I'm putting up in sjgames and probably crosspost some of the responses I get there as well. It's definitely helpful when the designers/writers are actively participating in the forums! Maybe I can nudge Jurgen to be a little more active in the system conversation here too - he's hanging out there a bit as well.
