Some of you might have noticed my absence around here. I've been quite busy with school, girlfriend, and surgery/physical therapy. I've also been fighting off periodic bouts of depression. After speaking with a school councilor about the whole depression thing, I was tasked with "keep busy" and "do something you can feel good about".

So, in addition to picking up a very nice leather-bound notebook to start a first draft of my novel, I am determined to increase my presence around here. As founder, I feel really bad that I haven't been participating around here, and I thank all of you for keeping the community going. In order to make me participate more, I am going to devote at least an hour each evening to reviewing settings or material here. To keep me on task, I would like anyone who wants me to review something to post up a link to it here, and describe what you would like reviewed in particular.

Just start tossing things out, and I'll get to one a day. If I don't post something, feel free to harass me about it over AIM: my screen name is JAGXeviat.

Thanks all!

This is my latest setting thing.

If your want to keep busy, maybe you could check it out, atm the moment its pretty low on content as its something I'm just starting to put down on "paper" so to speak.

This is my older setting,
midly defunct atm.

If you feel you have a lack of things to do, maybe check it out. There is a lot more stuff in it. The thread might have more info. Here I have a specific thing, I want to know everything you think doesn't work together, doesn't fit, seems useless, contrived or out of place. I'm slowly (because I can't stay on a single project for some reason) starting my first revamp, and so I'd like some feedback (preferably all the negative bits) to see what shape Divergence 2.0 should take.

On a final note, GL with your novel, its a lot of work but hopefully really rewarding :D

I'd love some input on Eclipse. Since the setting is supposed to be relatively complete, and thus read for story writing, the big questions are what you feel might be missing. What areas need more fleshing out, and if you have any ideas in relation to that.

There's an old discussion thread here.

Best of luck with the writing. And life.

Llum, did you want me to give you a review on Bronze or on Divergence?

Deja vu? :p

seriously though, I wish you the best of luck with handling your depression. I can't think of any tasks for you, but I'm sure that I can if I'm given enough time. If I do, I'll let you know. If I don't, and you still feel like leaving me some sort of input, you know which creations are mine.

Phoenix, just letting you know that I'm going through "Eclipse" right now. It is a lot to digest. I will say that as of right now I see it as a great world for stories but I'm having a hard time seeing it being used for games; again, I'm not sure what your intention is with it. I've read through the history and I'm reading through the Solar Empire right now. I do like that it feels different from traditional fantasy.

Hey, thanks Xev. I wrote it intending to write a novel, mostly from the perspective of Chandi, about the fear of the Fifth War.

I could see it being used for games of intrigue, or maybe even war, but less well suited for typical adventuring parties since the setting doesn't really have monsters or dungeons.

Not going to re-download AIM since I never used it when I had it.

So I prod thee here:  :poke:

My latest thoughts on Eclipse: Drop the iguanas as pets ideas. Not sure it fits the mood. And add giant war tortoises as mounts (think like elephants in Indian wars).

I'd like to hear your thoughts on Urbis - which parts work, which parts don't, and (especially) which parts were confusing or missing.

I realize that this is a mammoth task, so take your time.

OH boy. Urbis is huge. I've read a bit of it in passing before, so I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm going to be busy this weekend with Ren-Faire stuff, but I'll get to it soon.

Kap'n, have you seen the Nechui of Xiluh yet? It's a somewhat small addition so far, but it's bigger then my usual update. If you get a chance, I'd love to have your thoughts on them!
