Egridar, Land of the Gods

[ic=Core Ethos]Often called the Age of Chaos, this period is known for it's existence as a time of great turmoil. Throughout the world, the gods are busy shaping the world and staking their claims. The level of technology is minimal, and magic is a rare and valued resource. Ignorance is everywhere, as the lesser races struggle just to survive in the shadow of the dragons above. The Titans travel the world spreading knowledge amongst the savage tribes, establishing great walled cities known only as civilization. The law of the day is power, as most cower in fear while legendary beats stalk the night.  So perhaps more accurately, this is the age of Fear.[/ic]

The People

[ic=Beachwalker Historian]
In the beginning, there was one type of person, a simple being called Man.  This simple being was weak, pathetic, and rather small.  what it possessed however, was determination, and the blessing of the god Lyrian.  These two qualities led Man to spread throughout all the realms of the world, creating a home in every place he could set his foot.  Once he had been everywhere, he settled in these places and began to change.  Over 5,000 years, he changed greatly, adapting to the lands he settled.  Since many places were unfriendly, he had to struggle to survive, and that would make him stronger.  Now, there are seven tribes, as Man has changed in six ways, with the Man born of light still living with the Titans in their great city.  Thus, we are all different, and yet the same.  Thus, we still live today, and thus we will continue![/ic]

The Monsters
Dragons: Dragons are the children of Tisis, lord of destruction.  Great flocks of these creatures fill the skies and roam the lands, striking fear into the hearts of any who see them.  By far the most powerful beasts in the world, they roam the world fearlessly and unminding of those who they step over, between, and on.  As varied in appearance as their numbers are great, their diversity is both a key factor in their survival and the primary obstacle to their unity.  With so many different species, discrimination amongst their kind are rampant, and feuds based upon behavior and appearance are growing ever more common.

Lycanthropes: These great beasts most commonly inhabit the shadowy depths of the Great Forest, preying upon all foolish enough to walk into their territory.  Although often considered to be mindless brutes, these cunning predators are masters of their domain due to both their powerful abilities and their cruel intelligence.  Easily a match for any creature in their territories, they are often frustrated by the impudence of the humans which inhabit their forest.  So far, these invaders have only survived through an extensive use of traps, and the secret motivation of the were-beasts in letting them survive as a means to increase their own numbers through infection.

Doppelgangers: Coming Soon!

Vampires: Rulers of the realms beneath, the vampires are masters of darkness and owners of all that lies in shadow.  They use their servants to patrol the countless tunnels and dungeons within their domain and maintain control of their realm.  The only real reason they don't rule over all is their weakness to sunlight, and so they remain underground, manipulating the world with hands unseen.

Titans:One of the greatest monsters, these giants are some of the few beings who can challenge a dragon and win.  Luckily, they are also the only species of monster which is on terms with humans which can be defined with words other than "actively hostile".  These great beings have forged the first civilization in the southern reaches of the world, building great walled cities which can keep out all but the most terrible of beats.  Of course, only a foolish creature would attack such a city, due to the nature of it's inhabitants.  Such powerful beings as the titans are a force to be reckoned with, and when gathered in such great numbers, they are a force to be feared.  Luckily, their great cities serve as shelter for the humans who seek it, as the titans protect the creatures and enjoy their company greatly.
