So what is your take on human emotion; is it something they have transcended, is it something they ignore in lieu of their pursuits or is it something they are very much still subject to?

Still subject to, but it's somewhat muted by the lack of urgency in most sorcerers' lives.  There's not a lot for the sorcerers to really fight over other than beliefs and ideas and (rarely) magical items/materials. I should write something showing the sorcerers being a bit more riled up... I do see them as emotional, or least highly sensuous, beings.
