  Reports coming in now are confirmed...Fiscal watchdogs have been skeptical at Pantheon Corporations bold proclamation that there Biotech division would in fact bring to light something that has eluded man kind since the dawn of time. After trillions of dollars, inter-planetary funding and the dubious New Hellenia incident, Pantheon Corporation has gone public today with astounding news. From IPN's news conference center on Earth we bring you Chairman and CEO of Pantheon Corporation, Juno Straumme :

   "Ladies and gentleman, our millenia long work has finally paid off. We have cured that great ailment that has plagued man-kind for eons. I would like to show you some footage now, dating from the early 2000's. This is Hera Straumme, my ancestor. She is just a child in this footage, not even a legal adult by standards of the early 21st century. Ok, could we switch to this morning. Yep, that's her. She is showing signs of aging now. She appears to be only in her late 30's. Our scientists confirm no more signs of aging will occur in our lovely Hera. Ever.  She is well over one-thousand years old ladies and gentleman-She is living proof that we-Pantheon Corporation-have discovered and perfected immortality. "

You've started off great and while you've left lots to be said, I'm definitely intrigued. Solid image choice for the thread opener. Hope to see more of your take on immortality in a sci-fi setting.

Minerva

 Persistent database. Minerva was the mastermind of Dr. Iphigenia in the early 23rd century. After the Intolerance wars, the worlds leading scientists and historians realized that the great works of human civilization were at risk. During the Intolerance wars, many of the ancient world marvels had been destroyed beyond restoration, including many of the pyramids in Egypt, nearly all of the classical age buildings in Greece, and countless numbers of artwork spread across cities in Europe, Asia, and America. Minerva's roots were humble, Dr. Iphigenia admitted later that he had come up with the idea while sipping a cup of coffee, doing his morning crossword, where he scratched the now-near-mythic equation that would form the basis for Minervas' coding. That coding is now hidden carefully in Minerva herself. The information exists nowhere else in the Uni.

Discus

 Private Sector. Atmospheric structure. A halo-like ring surrounding Olympus (formerly Earth). This initiative was designed to stabilize an ailing economy in the early 23rd. The initiative provided work for millions, and fostered a re-structuring of the world economy. The (then called New Hellenic Belt, see Hellenia Incident) Discus was designed to be an outer atmosphere monitoring station with limited manufacturing capabilities. These included space-craft, satellites, low-orbit drones, and mechanized units for lunar/off planet surveying.

 Critics of the project were justified when the Discus was taken over by the Pantheon Corporation, shortly after it was completed. This event was overshadowed by Pantheon Corporations unveiling of project Ambrosia. The Ambrosia Gene Sequencing was the single most important discovery in the history of humanity.

  On absorption..

 Scholars argue that Talo Rousay could not possibly have been the very first human to be absorbed by Minerva, as Minerva at that point was most likely very aware of every living human in the Uni. But as any text log and student of Mieza will tell you, he was the first. Arguably Talo Rousay was willing in his absorption, as he was part of an experiment conducted by Pantheon Corporation aboard the space-craft Illiad. Its purpose was to study the effects of long term isolation aboard a vessel destined for a deep space locale.

 Faster than light travel had been mastered to some degree at this point, but only for non-living entities. In a turn of irony, scientists, having mastered immortality, were suddenly struck with the realization that space was simply too large. They had known this for centuries, but having conquered many problems presented by quantum physics, were suddenly presented with an incalculable number more. For every theory proven or dis-proven, suddenly ten or twenty more unexplainable things popped up. One of them was long-distance travel. In short, these experiments were designed to study the effects of (well, for one the mental repercussions of immortality) and two the physical effects of long-term exposure to deep space travel.

 Like the sailors of ancient times, many problems were immediately apparent. This included [CORPORATION CENSOR] and [CENSORED]characteristics of [CENSORED].

 Talo Rousay was absorbed by Minerva some time during the late stages of the Illiads mission. Monitors conclude that after several days of [CENSORED] Rousay was unconscious. Once the Illiad had returned to Olympus, medical examiners found that he was very much alive, physically. But he was unresponsive to any stimulation. After consulting Minerva, the persistent database responded with an enigmatic equation, an ancient Sumerian symbol that may have meant property, and Rousays genetic code. She had little else to say on the subject.
