Yakkar is an NPC villain I've used quite a few times now. Take a look at him, and use him, if you want. The breath weapon for a half-shadow dragon is a 60ft line of negative energy, and they gain immunity to damage from negative energy (although not to death magic).

This man's shadow shifts oddly despite his lack of movement, and rarely corresponds to that which it should. His clothing, a shifting greyish colour, seems to absorb the light around, and one eye is a deep black pool surrounded by shaded scales.

Yakkar is a contract killer and mage for hire, capable of casting a wide range of spells. Although he can sometimes be found guarding caravans in the Underdark or elsewhere or serving rich masters as an assassin, advisor, and court mage, his preferred role is to maim and kill as many people as possible in the execution of one duty. Where other assassins would use a stab in the dark, Yakkar, unless ordered otherwise, will level most of the enemy's surroundings in a vicious attack, revelling in the chaos. His other favourite method of murdering an enemy is to manipulate the mind of his closest friend and ally - perhaps even his spouse - until they meet their end cutting the victim apart.

His father was a shadow dragon, and he was raised in the underdark - learning some particularly vicious underdarker tactics as he did so. If drawn into direct combat, he prefers to use his Magestrikes and more lethal spells from afar before he enters true combat with his claws.

Spells: Sorcerer Spells per day: 7/7/7/6/4. Sorcerer Spells Known: 0: Light, Read Magic, Ray of Frost, Mage Hand, Daze, Detect Magic, Open/Close, Arcane Mark, Touch of Fatigue. 1: Cause Fear, Ray of Enfeeblement, Magic Missile, Detect Undead, Chill Touch. 2: Command Undead, Blur, Invisibility. 3: Suggestion, Lightning Bolt. 4: Enervation.

Wizard Spells per Day: 4/3/2/1. Likely Spells prepared: 0: 3x Touch of Fatigue, 1x Ray of Frost. 1: 1x Ray of Enfeeblement, 1x Burning Hands, 1x Magic Missile. 2: 1x Ghoul Touch, 1x False Life. 3: 1x Heroism.

Magestrike (Su): Via various magical experiments performed by himself, Yakkar can attack opponents up to 40ft away with his claw attacks as a ranged touch attack. This ability can be used an unlimited amount of times per day, but is subject to spell resistance. It is treated as a level 1 spell for all purposes.

Breath Weapon (Ex): Yakkar's breath weapon may be used once every 1d4 rounds. When he uses the weapon, a flash is seemingly emitted from his mouth and all those within the area of effect appear in negative for a moment. His breath weapon is a 30ft cone of negative energy dealing 6d8 points of damage. A successful reflex save against a DC of 12 halves the damage. The DC is constitution-based.

Equipment: Yakkar constantly wears a pair of leather Bracers of Armour +2. He also wears Nimble Rings (+1 dexterity each) which appear as fat, diamond-encrusted golden bands, and a Tunic of Shadows which naturally lowers the area around him to low light conditions (comfortable for him). He almost always carries at least ten potions and ointments about his person, including Bull's Strength, Bear's Endurance and Flight, and several scrolls of various other spells. He normally carries around 100,000 in gold pieces, and wears a mundane, if disturbing, silver skull mask.
