I have some conepts of spheres based upon alignment (Iâ,¬,,¢ll post them for you guys too) but I'm having trouble of thinking of concepts for the more elemental or mundane parts of the deities cones of influence. These are the ideas for some gods (I'm putting them into groups called 'pantheons' to make the game more interesting):

-Revolves around the seas and islands in the game (The Infinite Depths Pantheon)
-Revolves around spirits and all alignments of undead (Spirit Keeper Pantheon)
-Revolves around travel, discovery, and secrets (Forgotten Road Pantheon)
-Revolves around revolutionaries, traitors, and general misfortune/wickedness (Hated Lords Pantheon)
-Revolves around loyalty, grace and compassion, as well as martial aspects (Enlightened Defenders Pantheon)
-Revolves around the untamed lands and animals (Voice of the Wild Pantheon)
-Revolves around  torture, wrongful acts, and the power of pure evil (Cruel Tormentors Pantheon)
-Revolves around mercenaries, social change, community, and secret endeavours (rogue stuff) (Quiet Champions Pantheon)
-Revolves around youthfulness, curses, and desires (Seven Dark Moons Pantheon)
-Revolves around magicks, knowledge, command, and pursuits (Gifted Sages Pantheon)

So yeah, there's about 2-7 gods per pantheon. You do the math.
Also, I'm thinking of using a different planar system that incorporates the Spirit World (MoP).
Any questions, queries, complaints, concerns, or comments?

What kind of help do you want? Why so many gods? I can kind of understand the themetic pantheons thing, but woah! Don't you think it would be simpler to make one pantheon, and give each of the gods alternate identities when worshipped in foreign lands? Each pantheon probably has a god of death...he could be a terribel sea serpent to some, or a shady wraith to others.

Creating entire pantheons for each theme is really ambitious, and chances are nobody's going to even read half of them. They'll just pick the top dog (Like Moradin) and worship him, or worship the whole pantheon.

Too much work for not enough reward IMHO.

if you're going to make that many pantheons, make the deities really simple, or perhaps go with only 2 or 3 per pantheon.  Maybe, if you think this would work of course, you could have the gods in each pantheon overlap.  Like a god of the deep be a god of dark spirits as well, etc.

Túrin

Why would these pantheons exist in the first place? It doesn't seem natural for people to worship their gods in groups that are tied together thematically. I also agree with what the people above me said.

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. Well, as I have planned, they are more like families. It is possible that I don't have to make evevy gods portfolio but maybe I should make the primary gods portfolio and put down their children's duties. How bout' that??

That should work much better. I'd also suggest providing one entry for the collective domains of the whole pantheon rather than breaking it down individually. That way clerics have choices, but they aren't forced to single deities with limited portfolios to follow.

Thanks, that is an awesome idea. However, I won't be able to include some new domains if I do it that way.

Yeah, it seems like the best way to do this and keep the new domains would be to have the "lesser" gods of a pantheon be children, servants, or maybe even just facets of the main pantheon god.  Each facet would have a different set of domains, but the general outlook of the pantheon would be the same - a cleric could pick a facet to emphasize, but would still be much the same as a cleric of a different facet of the same pantheon.

Is that what you need help with?

watch the domain trap, trying to squeeze too many in can put a big strain on your pantheon(s), i speak from experience.
