Yes, we live in a harsh world now, nothing like are luckier ancestors. Where civilization struggles to hold on and sanity is lost along with your body in the endless wastes of Kendrin. But in this primal battle for survival in a harsh world, one needs to find inner peace and acceptence. Because of the trials and many battles for survival the surviving races had to endure, we are better for it. And we will rebuild our world, and it may not be the beautiful paradise it was before, and Kendrin Land of Paradise is gone, Kendrin the Endless Waste is what has become of it, and those who choose not to accept and adapt will die.
     -Chugdar, Beltuk Philosepher

Kendrin is a desert world, with seas of sands and huge expanses of rocky desert. It was not always this way. The world of Kendrin used to be a paradise world, an archipelago of beautfiul tropical islands. But then disaster struck when a huge astroid struck Kendrin, evaporating the great oceans and killing off whole jungles and species with it. But that was hundreds of thousands of years ago, and now three races succesfully survived the apacolpyse.

[note]Design Note: I will be using the book Sandstorm, a D&D supplement throughout most of this setting, although all of my ideas are original, i'm just using the book for statistics and weather affects, like Sandstorms or Slipsand.[/note]

HUMANS  The humans were always adaptable and succesful, and even though their great Island States and Empires were destroyed, they are still succesful, now traders, merchants and rangers of the desert. Almost all humans live in tents, using them as houses, as the special cloth that their made out of keeps the heat out and cool air in. All humans buildings are tents, but their size varies greatly. Humans now of course think its strange to live in a stone building. Tents are also useful because it allows them to pack up and move if the area their in runs out of rescources or dangerous creatures move into the area.

BELTUCK The Beltuck have always lived on beach islands and in semi-desert islands, digging burrows deep under the sand, so they are well suited for a desert world already. Beltucks are a goblinoid race, only standing about four foot tall at the highest, with greenish gray skin. They are usually not very muscular, and are skinny with long arms and legs. They have webbed feet and hands, which would suggest that they were aquatic at some time in history, but in fact they use it to swim through sand. They excrete a substance from their hands and feet that keeps the sand from falling in on the tunnel. One huge complex of tunnels and rooms under the sand is a Beltuck village.

CHITUCK The Chituck are a race of lizard people who live at the many oasis's dotted around Kendrin. They are very tall and muscular, and are generally warriors and very athletic. They also lived near lagoons and pools in old Kendrin. They were a tropical race. But, very inventive and adaptable, they created settlement near small lakes and rivers, where small patches of tropical forest grow. They have invented the water mill, and many different kinds of boats.

BELTUCKS
Beltucks are gentle, peace loving people. they are wonderful writers and philosiphers, but not very war oriented. They do not have militias and armies for their towns. Its not exactly easy to invade a complex of burrows, however, so their choice of terrain to live in is a natural defense. They are fragile but not defensless. They make great rogues, as they are very quick and agile, yet not muscular. Since they live for a hundred some years, they also make great wizards. Ever since elves went extinct they have been the only race to practice wizardry. Even though some humans are born as sorcerers, that is an entirel different form of magic.

Beltucks have grayish, slightly wrinkly skin. They have very large yellow or green eyes that allow them to see in their dark tunnels. They have large, pointed furry ears, and a mouth full of small sharp teeth. They stand only about four foot tall, and have skinny bodies with long arms and legs. They can run on all fours, but usually only do this when running through tunnels. They do not where shoes, and have three toed feet. Beltucks wear clothes created out of a form of glass. They burn sand, and then cover it in the strange paste they secrete from their hands and feet that allows them to dig burrows. In the end, this creates a sort of dark brown cloth with a beaded texture.

A very peaceful people, Beltuck warriors are few and inbetween. There is only four or five in every colony. This is made up for by the fact that their very homes are a defensive structure in themself, being underground and cramped and uncomfortable for other races. Also, there are many Wizards in one clan that can defend their homes with spells just as well as a warrior can with a sword.
