And tell me what else you would want to know.

That's the three religions that show up in my realm.  It's a player-level document, so it wouldn't include anything about the secret brotherhood worshiping the evil gods.  I do think that it needs some embellishment, however.

Some comments/suggested revisions/questions:

- Are the spirits real, or just a belief, without any real basis in reality?

- the Pantheon - cool, basically, a dualistic system split around male/female and good/evil axis, with a neutral nature deity in the middle.  I like the Norse-sounding/Anglo-Saxon names.

- For Pjoc, you didn't capitalize "republic" but you do elsewhere.

- For Timos, the phrase "it is unknown whether it is a boy or girl" sounds odd, as if the god is a child.  "Male or female" would sound better, I personally think.

- Nefl's entry has a punctuation error - "Republics" should be "Republic's"

- I love the specificity and detail of the shrines of Gesprochen.  More detail like this would make the Pantheon richer

- the concept of Ki seems a little incongruous with the rather Celtic/Norse/Western European sounding names and tone that seems to predominate elsewhere.

-"guider of fate" sounds off - do you mean "guide of fate"?

Interesting. A little more societal nuts n bolts is in order I think - esp. re: the Pantheon. Evidently their existence/worship plays a significant role in the Republic, so how their church(es) function would be useful. In this one you've described the gods, but you haven't really described their religion yet. . .

BTW, I'm assuming these are krunched for D&D (4.0)?

The first could probably use some more fleshing out, but the Druid class may cover that. (I haven't looked at 4.0 at all. . .) How much direct interaction with the various spirits actually occurs?

The vagueness of the last actually makes it the most interesting. It's a fine line to walk to keep it intriguing without over doing it. Some of the practices of its adherents though could help - here you could describe how characters (P and NP) act, things they do, which would help your players, without necessarily overstating the underlying metaphysics. A little bit regarding the effects of these practices would go a long way though. In a world where people can get a real, evident and direct response to their prayers, devotees of the Hand would at least have concrete reasons for believing their faith has a definite effect as well - even if more nebulous.

All and all it peaks my curiosity. . .

Thanks for the feedback.

The Pantheon was my basic starting point to include a familiar polytheistic fantasy religion; "normal" enough to be familiar but not so unusual as to be unfamiliar and unfriendly.  The grammar feedback is especially handy.

Detail on shrines and churches (I went with the holy building cliche, to reflect their weird little "holy house" iconograph) is found in location files, but will certainly be added in with the main file.  Timos has kind of a unique shrine...it's a stone or wooden table, placed outside.  It has bowls to be filled with water, daily, and torches to burn.  It has no roof.  This is the earth (stone), air (Roofless), fire (torches), water (water bowls).  This reflects his primary association with the elements.

"Ki" is a hold over from the samurai class that the race is based off of; I kept it because it sounds faintly German.

Interestingly, Moonclaw, none of this is for 4.0.  I read through some 4.0 stuff but wasn't impressed enough to go and buy more books I couldn't afford.  My entire campaign setting (And campaign because I've worked up a plot) is based on 3.5/E6 with various rule mutations.

I wasn't sure how to further flesh out the spirit religion; if you have any tips let me know.

Direct relation with the spirits happens every day.  Unless it's raining, you're bound to see at least one pixie and a few nyads in your travels, depending on where you go.

Their belief is sincere, and Druids do get their powers from somewhere.  They observe these avatars (Children of the Earth and Sky) using magic, and are very aware that they are unlike most other creatures.  It's almost impossible to go a day without seeing a Grig, unless you're inside all day.

Worshippers of the Hand truly believe everything is the will of their guider.  They see everything as the effect of his will, as part of some overarching plan kept vague on purpose.  The ones in the realm see their exile as the Hand's orders.

I had planned to introduce aspects of certain faiths through story telling, but I'm a shite author.  I'll try and work their rituals in.  Insofar, they are celebrators with a few important days they hold ceremony for.  Religious figures do a morning or evening sermon to themselves and their assistants.  "Church on Sunday" doesn't apply, basically.
