Yay! I found a gaming store!

Many of you may already know, but for those who don't, I just moved to the Atlantic City area. I have been forced to leave my old gaming group behind and fumble around the local area trying to get my bearings...loads of fun...I've already gotten lost a few times.

Well anyway, my new appartment is in Absecon NJ, and after searching around for anything even close to a book store, I was beginning to get pretty sad. I'm too old now to go combing the community college for gamers and girls, and even Borders is some 20 miles away.

So I decided to check out WotC and search for places that sell D&D near me. Lo and behold a massive gaming store is les than five miles from my appartment practically on the same road! I checked out the website and it looks like a nifty place. Regular gaming sessions, RPGs, CCGs, Minis, and numerous events...I am quite relieved, and plan to check it out in person today.

I just wanted to share my joy with somebody, and since I don't know a dang soul down here, I thought you folks might be happy for me. :cheer:

Heh, you're lucky...the closest Borders to me is three towns over, and over an hour's drive away. I don't even have a gaming store or gaming sessions or anyone to play with in RL. :(

I'm in a college town, but none of the students take me seriously...  The nearest game store is hours away for me too...  But the good news is my first campaign is staring in a week or two.  Oh, and congratulations Nasty!

Huh, I have Borders, Barnes and Noble(x2), and Waldens all within five miles of my house and I am sure there are a bunch of gaming stores, but I have not bothered to look.  :clap:

I have both a Barnes and Noble and a Borders in my city, and neither of them has the new Tome of Magic book ...

Nah, not me...I'm the one people need to be afraid of. It's just because most of you guys are still young, and haven't had to change gaming groups as often as I have.

1. I played with my elementary/junior high friends first, but come high school most of us went to different schools and drifted apart

2. In high school I made new friends and played with at least four or five different groups, but college came and...well you know the rest. Actually some of them went to school locally, but then gaming often had to compete with drugs and keg parties; gaming usually lost.
I did manage to hold a single campaign together from my freshman year of high school until I was about twenty. AT times we played 12-15 hour sessions, sometimes three or more times a week, but we also took 2-3 month breaks too.  

3. I played with my an older crowd (about 10-15 years older than me)both during and after that period, whom I met at the local gaming shop, but one by one they began to move to various parts unknown (these guys were mostly gaming buddies that I never knew too personally)

4. I moved into the city, and found new gamers at a different shop. I didn't like their style so much, so I fostered my own players out of the young and curious...but they got older and went away to school.

5. I reunited with high school friends to play vampire, after giving up on D&D, and did so for five years.

6. I got burned out on vampire just before the world of darkness imploded upon itself, and started playing with a new group (my last one) that I met at a new game shop, but now since my move, I will yet again search for another.

So as you can see, I'm not very shy, and I've done this all before, so I have no worries about meeting strange new gamers. I love meeting new people from all walks of life, and I make friends pretty easily, so I'm quite happy to have gaming store right near near by. It's a heck of a lot easier to find gamers there, than it is to find them elsewhere, or to recruit and train new ones.

Ha! They even have it in the hobby store here in Tilburg, the Netherlands! We're normally like three months behind...
