At present I'm making two campaign settings, but of the two, Kalara is my biggest work. See  THIS page. Any further posts I will post dually here and on the wizards board. :)

Kalara! The home of the gods, so 'tis said!

Kalara! The home of the greatest wizards, and most powerful warriors!

Kalara! A broken world, spinning within a damaged orbit!

Listen, and I will tell ye the story of how it was made.

In the beginning, there was only darkness and fire. And then, two great minds formed from the darkness, and one was great and good, the other powerful, yet evil.

These two minds formed for themselves a pair of enormous rings, and the evil one burned, and the great mind of evil said 'This shall be called the burning ring!' And so it was. And the mind of evil populated his ring with thousands upon thousands of creatures alike to himself, and he called them devil! And demon! And many others! And these creatures spread, and multiplied, and forged for themselves homes and houses, and evolved.

The good ring, on the other hand, ascended above the evil one, and the good mind said 'This shall be called the ascendant ring!' And so it was. And the mind of good populated his ring with thousands upon thousands of creatures alike to himself, and called them the celesti, or celestials, and these creatures spread out and multiplied and fought with the evil creatures, as their master said.

And then the good mind and the evil mind both began to forge a world to go within the rings, and they clashed, and fought, and the creative energies spinning outwards from their epic battle made their great world beautiful. But when it came to creating the creatures, good wanted good, and evil wanted evil, and they struggled, and the world shattered! It cracked into two great pieces, and then the good mind and the evil mind also shattered, and formed the Gods, and from the rift within the broken world flew the dragons! The First-Mother, her mate, and her children, Great-Gold, Fire-Red, Ice-White, Dark-Black, Silver-Beauty, Death-Green, and Amethyst-Purple. And they spread out and formed kingdoms of their own, and the Gods forged their own species. But to prevent another great split, the Gods populated the world with creatures that could decide for themselves for good or evil, and they called this 'free will'.

And the Gods-Plane was formed, the Arch of Beauty, and this passed from one part of the Ascendant Ring to the other side.

And the Dark-Plane was formed, the Arch of Darkness, and this passed from one part of the Burning Ring to the other side.

And then the Spectrums were formed by the great positive and negative energies flowing up and out and down. The Positive, or Upper Spectrum, was filled with life and light, and named the 'Seven Steps to Healing'. It ran all the way up to touch the bottom of the highest part of the Arch of Beauty. But the Negative, or Lower Spectrum, which ran down to touch the top of the lowest point of the Arch of Darkness, was the opposite, and was filled with nothing but a melted, dark version of the world above and was named the 'Seven Steps to Death'.

And then the other planes were formed, spheres of energy joined around the outside of the two Arches. Upon this the Plane of Death was formed, below the Arch of Darkness, and it reached down far.

Then the planes of the elements were formed, neutrality was brought to the world, which joined directly onto the material world, our world of Kalara.

And four other worlds came there too, the World of the Shasa, that opens into our world via the great Portal in the Sky, and is the source of the Great Waterfall and the Colossal River.

And the World of the Makriri, the Dragonkin, the Flying Lizards different from the true dragons of our world. This is the source of the six ascendant Islands above our world, of the great Moon which hangs in our sky above our cities, and the Flight-Rock used in Airships.

And the World of the Asus, the Mind-Eaters. These terrible creatures came into our world but could not survive here, and died, leaving huge bony carcasses. Their brains live on, though, tended by their lesser kin, those that we know as the Mind-Flayers.

And the World of Kusus. None has lived or been there, as there are no portals. Only one portal, which briefly existed, has ever linked us to there, and it revealed great lizards such has none has seen before, and all sorts of strange creatures. This was the source of the Gahakai, thrown from there because of their weakness and forced to run.

And that, my children, is how our world was made.
