This is my first post here, and i was amazed to find this place. I've been RPGing fo 15 years and for the last 5, have been working on creating my own. Majoran is my first attempt at Fantasy and so far i'm really happy but any ideas are welcome.

In the forgotten realm of Majoran, a world that abounds in extraordinary events, the Kingdoms of Men who had ruled for six ages grew in strength, ingenuity, but also destructive power. Their massive machines trampled the ground and their engines burn the forests. Slowly the hidden folk of Majoran died off, left in ash with much of the world around them. These magical creatures, sentient and non-sentient alike were all threatened by the Five Kingdoms of Men. Elves and even the Guardians of the world, the Elementals were faced with complete annihilation.
But there was one who rose up to defend their world; an elf of purest blood and heart, Elyndia of Silverwood. After the death of her mentor and friend she pleaded with the Elementals, the remaining Guardians to grant her power over their Magix, in order to defeat the armies of Men. Reluctantly the Elementals agree and forged an alliance with Elyndia, releasing their control over their Magix.
With her new power, Elyndia gathered her kin to join her struggle. Soon the Orgs, cousins of the Elves who live in the darkest forests, bolstering the Elf's ranks. Even the peaceful Trolls and just Giants fought in the great wars. Elyndia's forces though were still not enough to defeat the machinations of Men. It wasn't until the mighty Dragon Riders of the North, Dwarves and Half-men from the northern continent of Nordica, joined Elyndia that the tide of the war was truly changed and fire reigned from the sky'¦

Years after the defeat of men, their numbers fell and they neared extinction. Those who were not slaughtered were bound and sold as slaves. Machina and alchemy were outlawed, in the attempt to strip anyone without the gifts of Magix of power especially hindering humans. Many men had bounties placed on their heads and murdered by cold mercenaries. Elyndia appointed Marshals, menacing and bloodthirsty beings clad in ornate armor, to lead the hunt for humanity.
Elyndia, the once pure elf had been corrupted and transformed into a dark, heartless, and evil Empress. Her power and resources seemed insurmountable. Not even the Elementals could reclaim their magix, instead being enslaved. As her control grew so did the corruption in her heart. The world seemed again lost, hopeless and out of balance'¦

Nearly 2,000 years past, and Magix rule Majoran. Most of the Elementals are now mindless slaves, serving the Dark Empress. Her fortress sits at the Base of the High Mountain deep within the Forests of Argawean, 'Blood-stained' in the tongues of Orgs, who've become Elyndia'˜s personal guard. Elves have multiplied and built massive cities in many of the woods of Majoran, while the Orgs took refuge in the mighty mountains.
The Dragon Riders still occupy the Northern Territories, though there numbers are dwindling as they hide in their mines, amassing wealth. Without the Magix returned to the Fire Guardian, Arkanaro, Lord of the Dragons, the Fire Drakes are unable to reproduce and thrive.
Despite Elyndia's best efforts though, the race of men has endured. They have made the shadows and hidden places of Majoran their home. Rumor tells of a massive human city, hidden from the Empress and her agents. The city is said to have found a balance between machine and Magix, unlike Man's Kingdoms of old. Although men have not shaped the events of Majoran in 2,000 years, their time has again come'¦

Ghostman

Hello and welcome to the CBG Dirton!

Regarding your world, it seems like you kept to traditional fantasy elements but twisted them somewhat. Making mankind the underdogs, for example.

What happened to the trolls and giants? Did they revert to their peaceful ways after the war? How did the surviving humans come to acquire magix of their own? Or is that just a rumor?

That was merely the opening story. I have a fully formed world and history but its mostly in my mind and in spotted information.

Superfluous Crow

What are magix exactly? Supernatural force? Mystical creatures? Potent artifacts? Do they grant immortality (or are elves simply immortal) as Elyndia seems to still be on the throne, or is the Dark Empress merely a hereditary title and it is a descendant who now sits on the throne?

How would bi-racial adventuring parties work out in a world like this? Humans seem to be universally hunted down, but there are perhaps some rebellious factions of orgs, elves and elementals who oppose the dark emperor and ally with mankind?
Here I'm assuming most would play against the Empress, but the opposite might of course be true...

Magix are the supernatural energies that inhabit all living things. Elementals posses uniquely powerful Magix that they are able to transfer to another being of their choice but cannot command the return of them.

Elyndia is still ruling, she took on the title of Dark Empress after the great wars, being thoroughly corrupted.

The game is designed for heroically aligned characters that either side with or at least sympathize with humanity. But with any good game any character can be adapted.
