World War 4: Total Warfare (Master Thread)

The Cosmic Writer groaned as he begrudgingly set aside his Celestial Pen. Simply nothing could come to him!

He had spent what seemed an eternity in front of the empty pad of Universal Paper, practically begging it to apparate some masterpiece.

And then he had an idea!

"Why don't I take a break from writing my own characters for a while? I can just manipulate the product identity of other Cosmic Authors."

And so, the Writer began to scribble furiously on the pad. And as he did so, beings from disparate and normally seperate universes began to... cascade... into his mind's eye. Countless displaced beings from across the multiverse found themselves stranded with but one commandment from their new overlord:

"Fight."

The combatants looked to one another. Alone, they would surely all perish-- the witnessed several early warriors destroy themselves in fruitless grudge matches. They came to the conclusion that only by working in teams-- by setting aside their differences and working co-operatively, could they acheive victory.

And thus the War evolved.
