Quote from: WitchHuntStrangely, around here you can't find a copy of Brood War anywhere. I've been looking for so long, but no luck. I do plan to buy a new D2 Battle Chest though :)

Amazon.com!  Battlechest is under $20.00.

UPS tracking tells me mine arrived in Charlotte Saturday morning, which means I will be Starcrafting on Monday!

CYMRO

I now possess the Battlechest.  I will be online with Starcraft tootsweet!

And of course, I have had my ass handed to me on a plate three times in a row in the sons of Khoral alliance thing.

Helpful RTS tip: The more resource gatherers you have, the faster you can produce warriors and tech upgrades. In the case of unit limits, you can just kill off your gatherers when you reach your maximum.

Starcraft tips:
To maximize resource gathering efficiency, assign 2 peons to each mineral patch. 4 or 5 peons are enough for harvesting gas, depending on the distance and angle the geyser is from your HQ.
Terran and Zerg players should have around 3 extra SCVs to build buildings.
A Protoss probe doesn't need to stick around a building that's being created, so just keep enough to alocate resources, unless you're worried about your outposts.

More tips?

I prefer to send my spare resources gatherers in a suicide attack against the enemy. You'd be surprised how a few SCV's fare against a lone enemy (especially since they can repair each other), or how useful drones can be (since their attack is ranged, and they can burrow to ambush).

How you kill your extra peons is your business. I just find it faster to waste 'em then and there and make a more effective warrior now. Although drones make good snacks for difilers.

I need a new computer. Now I want to play. :(

Here's a tip I've found out.  If you're playing Protoss (and it may be exactly the same with Terran, but I don't ever play them), the Gateways and Nexuses (barracks and town halls) are set to spit out units on the bottom-left (southwest) corner of the facility.  Therefore, for quicker play, with less of your units wandering around in circles, build your facility so that the bottom-left corner is as close as possible to the exit of your base (or the gold, in the case of the Nexus).  It's particularly useful with the probes, since, if they wander through a multitude of harvesting probes, they tend to get stuck for up to 30 seconds or a minute, which can be very detrimental in a fast game.

I'm actualy juggling between 3 different computers. One at the public lybrary, one at work, one in the back of a store I have access to. I'm saving up to get my own computer and a connection. Be ready for my arrival. I've forgotten most of the tactics I developed, but I won't be some push over n008.

Anyone wanna get together and play some D2 through an IP connection?
