Okay, so I've had a chance to think of some ideas while I was out.  I've come up with five categories that I would like to find some semi-regular posters for.  Anyone interested, please PM me and I will go into a bit further detail on the plans, but for the time being, here are the basic descriptions (names may change).  Some of these articles may appear in the Campaign Builders' Guide, and others will go in the Post.  It's just a way I'm trying to spark more articles-production around here.

Bag o' Dice
New spells, feats, classes, races, etc created by members of the site that have already been playtested.

Road Less Traveled
New ways of using old skills, stats, and mechanics to acheive desired effects.

Ranting and Raving
Editorials by guild members on various things concerning RPGs and the industry.  Talk about alignment, or 4th edition, or anything else that is on your mind.

Birth of a Campaign
Creation of a generic campaign from the bottom-up.  Step-by-step considerations on bases of operations, adventure sites, NPCs, etc.  This is one I will be working on, but would love for others to participate in.

The Attic
Generic NPCs, towns, dungeons, etc, that can easily be thrown into just about any campaign.

Feel free to post thoughts here, but if you're interested, send me PMs.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

I would love to do some of this. I'd especially like to work on some things in cooperation with others. :)

Sign me up for ranting and raving about alignment.  Please.  I'm way too good at it.  Also ranting about a whole host of other things.  But I'm not as good at that.
I'm a muck-levelist, I like to see things from the bottom.

"No matter where you go, you will find stupid people."

Ishmayl-Retired

Like I asked, please PM me on these.  Also, as far as the rantings and ravings go, they need to be more in editorial format more than just "bitching about some shit." ;)

This is a high-quality idea, and I will probably be PMing you about it eventually.

Questions, specifically about your category, Birth of a Campaign:

This is specifically referring to a campaign, and not a campaign setting? Based on our site's focus, I'd assume the latter, but based on your elaboration, I am inclined to assume the former.

Either way, are you looking for commentary on a project that is being written about as it unfolds, or would an after-the-fact reflection on older material also make sense, if it's being written about with an emphasis on the original formation and development of the ideas?

LC, I meant it to be the Birth of a Campaign Setting, not just a 1-story campaign.   I plan on it using various ideas a few buddies of mine have worked on for the last little while.  More later, in the middle of a game currently :)

The Attic sounds very interesting. I always love to make NPCs. I love even more to make towns.

Would you want full stats, equipment and such? or mainly the information and generic background?

‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

Either/Or...  I like thhte idea of full stats, equipment, and background, although the background and info should be as generic as possible so as to properly fit into any setting as planned.

Did you just randomly make up the "bag'o'dice" name, or was it inspired by something... *cough*my thread*cough*

EDIT: Good idea, I'll contact you when I get home from my grandparents.  Stupid dial-up...

Birth of a campaign I would be interested in. Let me know if and how you want to cooperate on this.

In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. I've talked with EiDo about doing a series of articles on different kinds of creative campaign making. I'll be writing an article on horror campaigns and how to intergrate them into a session(s).
Eats brains here! Ugh!
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die.

[spoiler=Cthulhu]"To obtain a deep, restful, and fulfilling sleep, you must first submerge yourself in your cyclopean city of hideous non-Euclidean geometries beneath the sea, and then let your body die. But don't worry! As long as you continue to emanate enough evil thought-energy to influence and control your many worshippers throughout the untold eons, they will resurrect you when the time comes. (Stegosaurus) "Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

(T-Rex) "Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh...now die!"

No! penury, inertness and grimace,

"It nothing skills: I cannot help my case:
'Tis the Last Judgment's fire must cure this place,
Calcine its clods and set my prisoners free."

Elven Doritos

I'd like to state my endorsement for this idea-- the Guide can use as many articles as it can get. (I realize the deadline's a distance away still, but I've gotten zero submissions).

That being said, I won't be helping with any of these myself. :P A lot of these would make excellent contributions to the community, though, and I'd love to see people pick them up.

I've received numerous PMs on these subjects, and I thank you all for your support.  I believe I've sent everyone messages back now, but if you haven't heard from me yet on this subject, please PM me with a "Hey, get your ass in gear" message.

Bag'o'Dice and The Attic sound good to me...
