I'm all for the idea of the Polynesian islands being the tips of the sunken Mu continent and being seperate from my already-expanding serpentine-populated Lemuria.

Or whatever else that author wants to do.
Oh, how we danced and we swallowed the night
For it was all ripe for dreaming
Oh, how we danced away all of the lights
We've always been out of our minds

Yes, but the lost continent of Mu has a special tie-in with Central America, since it is supposedly the ancient (pre-Atlantis) homeland of the Mayans.

One can get to Central America from Polynesia.  Just head east south-east...

I would *suggest* advanced psycho-centric tech. It meshes well with a society destroyed for its "going too far". And imagine having this stuff savaged by a group calling themselves "The HUBRIS Corporation" or, more fitting for the time period, "Expedition: HUBRIS"... just a thought.

Only if your idea of the Maya/Aztec/Inca/etc. legendology is affected by such.  You cherry pick the legends/myths to develop based on personal preference, not on anything else.

Soban_KiithSa

I was going to have the Atlanteans be extremely advanced in terms of physics, to the lines of Quantum Field Theory mastery.  So they have things like Vacuum Energy, particle beams, and probably antigravity.
