Elven Doritos

Explain how you came up with your screen name, in a similar vein to this thread!

Elven Doritos.... Um. Well, I just juxtaposed the words when I signed up for the Paizo boards a while back. Not sure what was going through my head, but it stuck.
Oh, how we danced and we swallowed the night
For it was all ripe for dreaming
Oh, how we danced away all of the lights
We've always been out of our minds
-Tom Waits, Rain Dogs

Poseptune

Growing up I've always had a love for the ocean and ocean life. I also enjoyed the Greek and Roman myths, so when I started gaming back in highschool I needed a handle. Poseidon was my first, but my friends convinced be (through mockery to change it), so I also use Neptune. Since we are able to change our names here, mine will be related to some form of a sea god, or a Titan (Oceanus)

beejazz

Beejazz is a bene tielexu (sp?) midget assassin from the Dune series.

Also, chalchiuhtlatonal... mind if I steal that? I've been looking for a good ocean/storm/octopus god name.

QuoteI don't believe in it anyway.
What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

Velox

Velox was my first DnD characters name (an elven thief schmuck hero). I got that off a peice of candy I was eating when my brother asked me "what do you want your characters name to be?". It was an "alien" themed candy with a picture of a mean-ass alien named a "velox" on it. I've used the name since, for sentimental reasons. I'm thinking on a change.

the_taken

I literaly tried creating a WotC acount 38 times, each with a diferent screen name that didn't include a number or an underscore. So I declared that all my possible names were 'taken'.

I am the_taken, that name you wanted but somebody else has.

Ghost

My current handle?

Quite simply, it's what I do here. Well, not just here, but also whenever I write a story (or start one, at least), or whenever I daydream.

I don't usually go for any comedic effect when I choose screen handles.
‘Yes, one may live while never leaving their domicile. But then, they aren’t really alive. Exploring, adventuring, becoming a mercenary - whatever one may call it, it is the blood of the world that many are embracing now. Our reach is advanced nearly everyday, and the stars themselves are in our grasp. That is why I, and many others, continue to learn as we do.’

-Cazirife Dee, Captain of the Holy Vyecec (excerpt from the intro to Ifpherion: AoE)

Xeviat

Xeviat is a main character in a story I'm writing, which I hope to publish as my first novel. It's really that simple, though I have no idea how I came up with the name.

SA

My previous username on the Wizards boards was Incubus_Rampant, and when I changed I wanted a name that had similar religious/erotic connotations, hence: Salacious Angel, which is arguably exactly what Incubi are.

(Okay, so technically they're demons...)

SilvercatMoonpaw

I have a fascination with the color gray, and I've always thought I'm, in essence, a cat.  Silvercat, because silver sounds cool.  I wanted to come up with a name that sounded cliche elven (can't remember why now), and so I just went with Moonpaw.  And now I can't be anyone else.
I'm a muck-levelist, I like to see things from the bottom.

"No matter where you go, you will find stupid people."

Wrexham3

I'm from Wrexham, it was my nickname in uni, and it took me three time to log on to the WotC board.  Not a great story I know, but nevertheless my own.

Hibou

I'm secretly part of the Inquisition.

Túrin

Hey, you know the rules say you can't post that on a public forum!

...

I mean...

Huh, is that so?

As for mine, I've always been a fan of Túrin from Tolkien's Silmarillion, and I used the name for a short-lived character in some campaign, that happens to be my favourite character ever. I used it when I signed up for the WotC boards and have been using it as a nick on various places since then.

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Shaping of Middle-Earth

Matt Larkin (author)

As for my screen name, as I mention in the Rogueâ,¬,,¢s Gallery: the phoenix knight was an idea I had years ago (early high school or late middle school, I don't remember for sure) of a phoenix choosing someone to grant part of its powers in exchange for some price. I've used as a sort of logo or signature for my work on games, and as a handle on any forum in which I need one and it's available. I've also tried to work the idea into many of game projects, though it's only been prominent in Kishar - in the form of Gaedren, the fallen phoenix knight, turning messianic anti-hero.

SDragon

my current display name, coupled with the title, is a blatent parody.

my usual dislay name is simply my way of using "the savage dragon" as a screenname, while keeping away from image comics's lawyers, and fitting it into something that can be useed almost universally.

'Ona'envalya' is an approximation of my real name, in elven.
