Quote from: Phoenix KnightSo I've see you've added archetypes, but no details.  Is this literally intended to be archetypes (not classes)?  Like ideas for players characters that are not exhaustive?

Have you run games in this setting?  Would you use TRoS for them if you did?

If you are looking for cybernetics ideas, I recommend Shadowrun (one of my favorites after TRoS).
Hehe. Yay for dropping a project and goofing off! ^_^

I'm not going to come up with a list of classes because I feel that is a form of crunch. An archetype is just a more fluid, human and system independent word. So yes, it's not exhaustive but rather a guideline for the types of characters to expect. (I didn't include "farmer" for example)

I have never run a game in this system. Though I've only done any roleplaying twice in the past six months. I feel that TRoS, while an amazingly fresh and interesting system, would need serious changes for Rilos. Specifically, I'd mod ranged attacks so that they matched the melee form more closely and I'd probably tweak a few stats (toughness, mainly). TRoS is also awfully tied to the medieval time period, so there's a lot of work to be done there. I've never played Shadowrun, but I think that it could be good. GURPS would probably be the easiest, having a very modular structure. However, when compared to all these, I'd probably still end up using a modified TRoS (I do love it so).

Yeah SR would fit quite naturally to your type of setting, since it is a mix of fantasy and cyber punk.  I actually did a mofification of TRoS for my sci fi game, which eventually got discontinued.  But it can be done.  The rules in Flower of Battle are much better for, well lots of things, including ranged weapons.  From their it was easy enough to make ranged weapons more useable, since a projectile weapon could be used faster if you don't have to draw/pull an arrow and so forth.
