something. i forget, exactly, but i think it was a profanity...

No, NERPS isn't profanity. It's never been defined in any of the books I've read, and it's always advertised as a product. I beleive it comes from some sort of inside joke around old FASA Inc., but they've made it into some sort of ambiguous fictional product in Shadowrun. I think it's some kind of legal-but-powerful narcotic, highly-addictive, and a "cure for all your needs"; but that's just my theory.

Anyway... on with the tale telling. Note: The game is "troupe style", meaning I am the story teller and I also have a character in the game; other people can step in, take the reigns, and run an adventure when they please.

In 2052 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a corporate court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Seattle underground. Today, still wanted by Saeder-Krupp, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire my Shadowrunner team.

Well, not exactly. We haven't actually been caught yet, (but we were once kidnapped), and we once broke into a maximum security prison... but I digress. Yeah, that's all hogwash above. But it sounded cool, right? Like the A-Team, we're a group of fairly scrupulous mercenary outlaws, we specialize in problem-solving and high-threat jobs, and we enjoy violence. Unlike the A-Team, we rarely resolve our problems with clever plans, we like alot of violence, and our big tough-guy isn't black... and our Face isn't skinny or good looking... actually I think our Face is also our Murdock, we have two B.A.s, and we are collectively a Hannibal. I guess we're not actually like the A-Team at all, then.

Damn. I really liked that theme song.

Oh well. So anyway... it was after a night of gratuitous indulgence of our group "alcoholism" flaw, plenty of narcotic and stimulant abuse, unprotected sex, and some high-quality tattooing, that we received our latest job.
