Welcome to the CBG, O friend!

Well, you probably won't like my setting... it's not really traditional... but still... anyway... stopping with the dots now.

Yeah, anyway. WELCOME!

Quote from: Phoenix KnightIn fairness here, Seraphine, the site isn't affiliated with D&D.  Many of the members are most familiar with it, but some of us have not really made it a goal to make D&D settings.  Just to make settings.  D&D has a lot of limitations and issues - its real strength is its mass appeal (and one cannot forget how much that matters).

And welcome the the CBG, battleaxbaby.
That's true, the site is not technically affiliated with any game system or company, but I got the impression she was based in D&D, so that's what I talked about.  Many settings here are not D&D at all.  Many more are loosely based around D&D Core, but with large and many deviations.  If I was presumptuous, I apologize.

No. This place is a d20 hangout. It's not a rule, but it is a trend.

I don't disagree.  I don't necessarily have to like it, but I will conceed that.  However, since d20 is not a rule, I generally try to write my setting independently of mechanics.  I may later offer mechanics for the setting.  I tried to adapt Kishar to d20, but I eventually found enough frustration I'm leaning back towards The Riddle of Steel again.  Other games also have their high points, and many members here have some familiarity with non-d20 games.
