[ooc]It is dusk.  The sun will set in about an hour or so.

Behrem and Atefeh can travel together, that's fine. I guess I'll have to send Crit the PM too now.[/ooc]

beejazz

[ooc]And the rest of us? I guess that's just Rael and myself? Rael, are you a melee or ranged type? You can pretty much cover me from the tower, join me in recon, or wait at a designated location for our scouts to come back. I'd prefer that you were either with me (if you're good at sneaking) or in the tower (where you could watch my back for however long). Either way, I do want to check these bandits out and see what we're up against.[/ooc]

What?
England.
Just a conspiracy of cartographers, then?

[ooc]You forget about the overweight priest.[/ooc]

[ic=Hyaled]"Should we wait for the coward and the... whatever he is? Or should we go now?"[/ic]

beejazz

[ooc]Ooops! Right, sorry! Anyways, we should probably have one or both of you guys at the tower. I wouldn't advise staying way over here. It's a long trek to the other side, and those dudes ain't gettin' any closer.[/ooc]

[ooc]Okay.
1) Even if it's dusk, my plan still works. We travel when our party is together.
2) You seem to be making assumptions about the layout of the land. Who's to say they aren't in the tower? Let's go there and then plan an attack.
3) Rashine has said (at the top of the page) that it's "the dead of night." Would you like to edit that before I post in-character?[/ooc]

beejazz

[ooc]Okay, edited. And in response to point 2, that's what skills like hide and move silently are for, and a big part of the reason I'm not wearing armor. I'll check ahead if you'd like.[/ooc]

Quote from: beejazz[ic=Rashine]Tis not the light of day, last I checked. It is nearly night. We must use this fact to our advantage. As of now, and not tomorrow. I suggest that we prepare the ambush now, rather than sleeping the night away. As for attacking before they finish breaking camp, that's what the scouting is for. I'll torch you a signal as they start, allowing you to catch them off guard. We have tonight. We can't gamble on tomorrow.[/ic]
[ic Faidoon]Clearly frustrated, Faridoon takes a moment to compose himself before stating "I was suggesting that we move tonight, though we should wait until sundown so we are not spotted. Once the other two return, we can leave."[/ic]

Numinous

[ic=Atefeh]I step from the shadows and cough quietly for attention.  "Well, we're both back now.  If you want to continue onward, that's fine by me."  After breathing deeply, he continues on rapidly, "The monk is gone, looks like he disappeared almost.  So if you don't mind, I'd like to be getting on with this."[/ic]
[ooc]story short: we didn't find squat but dust, now let's get on with this![/ooc]

[ic=Rashine] Okay, who's for melee and who's for ranged, and do we need any scouting ahead done by yours truly?[/ic]

[ic=Atefeh]My bow will serve us well this night, and I might scout ahead as well.  Nobody fears a coward.[/ic]
[ooc]beejazz, I have better modifiers than you for both Hide and Move Silently, so I might as well check ahead.  You can come with em if you want, but I'm better at scouting, quite frankly.[/ooc]

[ic=Behrem]My bow too is my strength, such as it is. I can do some decent scouting, mostly in the open sands.[/ic]

[ic=Behrem]Behrem moves around the courtyard where we met the monk, checking the surrounding areas for potential dangers, pathways, or any approaches that might minimize our exposure.[/ic]

[ooc]A question for the DM: We are in a large temple complex. How is it built? Is it something on the order of a town, with various buildings and roads or paths? Or more like a large keep/fortress, with the buildings separated by courtyards and passageways? Is the area walled off from the desert, or open?

[ic=Rashine]Truly it is best we strike quickly and from the shadows. We need to know if the tower is occupied and what we are up against from the camp. I suggest you two scout those locations. The rest of us will follow close behind to the tower, where the scout to the camp will meet us. Acceptible?[/ic]
[ooc]So hows this gonna go? I've made a boatload of suggestions above. We gonna attack the camp tonight? Anyways, I gots less stealth than the two of you, but I'm Mr.Falchion so I gotta get up close. You gots the sneaking, but depending on your hp and how vulnerable you are in combat, you may want to keep some distance when we do the ambush. You others may just approach from the complex while I sneak around back. Either of our other scouts is welcome to help me prevent these infidels from escaping.[/ooc]
