Random One-Shots and Episodic Adventures

This is something that we bounced around in IRC last night after we finished Steerpike's and Sparkletwist's one-shots (well, Steerpike's game is probably gonna end up being a two-shot, since we didn't quite finish). Basically, what I'm looking for is seeing who all would be interested in playing mini-games (one-three session adventures, often with pregenerated characters) or campaigns that are episodic (so if someone isn't able to be there for a given episode, the game can continue.) I'd be happy to run some and want to see who else would, both run and play. The idea here is A) more games on IRC, because you can never have too many games and B) something that allows people like Weave or myself or a few others that have schedules too unpredictable to be reliable members of a long running campaign with a continuous storyline that works best if all players are present.

So, who's up for it?

I may be interested in running a one-shot in my Plaguelands campaign, using 3.5 D&D rules for smooth and easy's sake.

LD

Yes Steerpike, there were requests for Age of Madness after you left last night. :D Personally, I'm more interested in Tempter, but I nodded assent when CC brought up AoM.

Kindling

Glad to see there's interest! If you're up for running, it's just a matter of posting a thread saying you're interested - if a player, just wait for someone to post. :P Figured it's that simple.

QuoteI'm in if I'm available.

That's why these games exist - for people who aren't available all the time. :)

BTW, speaking of availability, do people want to post rough times when they would be free?

Aren't those two last sentences contradictory Xathan?

Xathan

Nah, it's more of a "when are you most likely to be available, given normal circumstances" as opposed to "When are you always free." Subtle difference, but still a difference. :P

I really like these flexible drop-in games that can run with what ever players happen to show up, without the need for painstaking scheduling just to get a session going. Would be nice to see more such games being run here.

1) I might want to play-test some of the Collegium Arcana (Hogwarts goes to Hell) game, on some nights, if there is interest.

2) I do get on some nights and ask myself why I don't run some Accis games.  Friggin rules are retarded-simple OSR d20 variant, ad the 4 sessions I ran off the cuff were a riot.  Bronze age and fun.
