Are there any websites out there that archive "world maps" for general use?  I know RPG maps has dungeons and whatnot, but I'm looking to save time by using a pre-made world map instead of having to photoshop my own.  I would, but it's for a throw-away setting.

Cartographers Guild I think. Also, here's a map of a world called Vaniya, which is very big and very awesome. I'm not  sure about licenses and all that, but I'd imagine everything's fine with it : http://www.cartographersguild.com/feature/VaniyaMap.jpg

Everything in my gallery is under a Creative Commons license meant to allow you to use and modify my maps provided that if you decide to share them in public you attribute your original source (me). So basically you can take any map in there and use it how you want for a quick campaign :)

Just be sure to use the download link in the top right corner of the map page to get the full size map. This one might be good for what you want.

Those are all awesome, actually.  This one:  http://garrettdmorrison.deviantart.com/art/Karros-World-284410880?q=gallery%3Agarrettdmorrison%2F14777642&qo=0 stands out best I think.

It's more modernesque, so whole world maps are great.  Might be a bit small for what I've in mind but I will see.  Some of the rest will find use later on, though, for sure; I'll let my group know what you've got going.

By the by - sorry I've not been on Steam in ages; I don't actually have internet where I live, not since late November or somesuch.

Heh, I like that Garrett's using the d20 projection still.

I did not know of that gallery. Very nice. I haven't been on DA in a long time. I usually fall in love with it once every few years and am eventually soured to it by furries, lame photography, and snobby jerks. Brushes rule, though.
