What about look to Discworld for inspiration. It's tongue in cheek but it can also contain mythic poetic portions.

I'd also suggest, keep arga arga and make a new setting rather than re-inventing your wheel. There is no limit on internet typespace. Post to your hearts content here or on the wiki! :D

Also... sadly a lot of the links to your old arga maps in old threads seem to be broken :(.

I will say this - I think it's probably easier to add a few mythic-feeling areas or episodes to a whacky campaign than the opposite (Bombadil might be the exception that proves the rule here?).
