I'm creating something of a "martial arts" sandbox setting in which to experiment with combat mechanics for my game system. The sandbox is neither tonally nor conceptually related to that system, but the combat mechanics should transfer.

This sandbox is called

INFINITE COMBAT IN THE BATTLE UNIVERSE

It is Street Fighter + Metal Slug + Afro Samurai + Ninja Scroll + Marvel Comics and it is about infinite combat in the Battle Universe.

What I need from you guys is a list of cool fighting archetypes and come characters for reference. Dudes in Combat Mechs and chicks with antimat rifles and eternal demons with fifty arms and biomechanical H.R. Gigerbots with acid-laced scorpion tails are all balanced against each other because the Battle Universe has its own rules. So don't worry about power levels. Strange and original techniques of your own devising are also welcome.

Ghostman

The speedy speedster who is so speedy that he can be in many places simultaneously, so that for a moment it looks like he's split into a bunch of clones that pummel you from all directions.

The big giant super-heavy fighter dude who does the sumo wrestler foot stomp to cause earthquakes that hurt everyone else near him (that aren't flying, anyway.)

The leeching mutant that slowly drains your health to heal himself, but has to take and maintain a grapple to do so.
¡ɟlǝs ǝnɹʇ ǝɥʇ ´ʍopɐɥS ɯɐ I

Paragon * (Paragon Rules) * Savage Age (Wiki) * Argyrian Empire
* You meet the New Age Retro Hippie
* The New Age Retro Hippie lost his temper!
* The New Age Retro Hippie's offense went up by 1!
* Ness attacks!
SMAAAASH!!
* 87 HP of damage to the New Age Retro Hippie!
* The New Age Retro Hippie turned back to normal!
YOU WON!
* Ness gained 160 xp.
Nomadic

The passive Judo/Aikido master who turns your own attacks against you.

The feral dude raised by <insert animal here> who uses his wild nature to fuel rage driven assaults.

The crazed girl with the knife fetish, she's carrying like 50 billion knives and she's throwing them everywhere.

The paladin with a holy sword who is sworn to slay all evil.

The undead creature with a paralyzing touch and an aura of fear.

The Juggernaut, Bitch.

sparkletwist

The exceedingly proper Englishman who is polite right up until he messes up your face, and then apologizes for having to do that.

The skinny and petite girl who looks like you could knock her over if you breathed hard, but in combat she flips out and is a complete badass.

The 3' or so person who bounces around like a superball to easily fight much larger targets.

The super-genius who understands kinematics and probability so well he's a combat master even though he's not that fast or strong.

The big fat guy who is drunk all the time and has martial arts moves that resemble staggering around drunk.

The woman who is just as good as any man and is out to prove it by kicking all of their asses.

The combat cyborg equipped with an array of advanced weaponry but always seems to default to hand to hand combat, probably because that looks cool.

Humabout

A traditional armored high medieval European knight with heavy armor and a heavy weapon

The fencing master

The gladiator

The Greek hoplite

A Native American warrior

Fortunato

Ghostly gunslinger with soul fire ammo and an angel made 1874 Colt Peacemaker.

The mad monk, Rasputin.  He's hard to kill and a cyborg nightmare from the 2177 with laser eyes.

Aleister Crowley, opens small dimensional gateways through which his special attacks emerge.

Weave

The great warrior who mastered all fighting styles but was still dissatisfied with her mortal fragility... and thus bargained her soul away with otherworldly beings for power.

A legendary weapon that passes itself amongst warriors it deems suitable for its nefarious, enigmatic purpose. Its demand for power consumes their soul until they are but a husk of their former selves and they crumble to ash, so it must constantly find its way to the hands of another.

A machine that houses the brain of a renowned battlefield commander in a four-legged, walking automaton equipped with all manner of cannons and lasers and turrets. In the midst of its attacks, it yells out decisive battle plans and tactical formations, often explaining to its assailer why its attacks were insufficient or complimenting them on a successful strike.

The enigma. A man (or woman? Thing??) enshrouded in robes so that only his faintly glowing eyes peer through a slit by the head. He is a master of an unknown fighting technique in which practitioners use their flowing garb to blind and ensnare their enemies and then get in close with a razor sharp dagger to gracefully slice their throats in one fell, artistic display. No agenda, no voice, nothing.

Lmns Crn

This one is a crack shot with firearms.

This one operates a fleet of destructive robots he invented, each one unique.

This one is cursed and cannot die.

This one is protected in battle by the blessings of ancient and bloodthirsty gods, and each defeated opponent is a sacrifice.

This one has mastered esoteric secrets of folding space, overwhelming challengers by being everywhere/nowhere at once.

This one has stored his heart in a hidden location, excising all vulnerability from his physical shell.

This one is a shapechanger with many terrifying forms.

This one is the present incarnation of an ancient god of death, who drinks the life from mortals with his gaze.

This one is a martial artist who, upon reaching top form and finding human vulnerabilities still remained, used powerful conditioning and meditation to relocate arteries, organs, and other bodily weak spots to places opponents won't expect.

This one is the greatest warrior of a vanished civilization, long-dead but sustained and protected by forgotten practices of mummification.

All very cool, folks. Anything on the higher-powered end of the spectrum? (interpret that as you will)

A sardonic Arkham detective (less "occult investigator" than "occult John McClane") who's had it up to here with all of these goddamn cults trying to resurrect some long-dead god or enact some unspeakable incantation. They're far too pissed-off to have their sanity shredded by no Lurker Beyond the Threshold and don't give a flying fuck if your many-angledness isn't beholden to the laws of mortality, because they've got a fully-loaded Beretta 92 that thinks otherwise and it's got a record of proving eldritch assholes like you wrong.

A gun-toting biomechanical bounty hunter native to the Gigeresque nightmarescape known as the Other World who makes her living hunting down fugitive monstrosities that've escaped into our reality and shunting them back into their own dimensions to face judgement; whether she does so all at once or piecemeal is up to them. Imposing, implacable, and surprisingly good-humored.

An apathetic teenage girl with an uncanny mastery of every martial art from Akido to Zui Quan that makes her quite possibly one of the most deadliest fighters in the world, not that she seems particularly enthused by this fact. That's it: no actually-superhuman strength or agility  or even a healing factor, but a hundred bratva thugs could barely leave a bruise on her, and if you put in her a cage match against Bruce Lee and Batman you might succeed in making her break a sweat before she broke them.

An Amazon armed with an arsenal of modern military-grade firepower.
