Rhodonpyr

With Podpolis and the Shaper's Shrine to the west and Hylephos to the east, this giant dome shaped rock sits in the middle of a large de-forested portion of the Valley. Uncomfortably warm to the touch, rumours name it the resting place of a great beast, birthplace to the Alloymentals, a dormant volcano or the barrow of ancient Automata. The jungle that carpets most of the valley will not grow in a large radius around the Rhodonpyr.

It is common for travellers to see groups of Alloymentals if they pass near Rhodonpyr, as the dome is a holy site for the metallic creatures. Multiple times a year they perform arcane religious rituals to their strange gods at various places around the Dome. In the language of the Alloymentals, Rhodonpyr is known as Tombus.

Attempts to enter the dome have met varying degrees of success, the ground heals itself closing any holes or tunnels made near Rhodonpyr. One expedition used Ancient artifacts to drill direction into the side of the barrow, which resulted in unleashing a wave of molten slag and magma  on the miners. After it cooled there was cleft in the wall that granted access to a set of interior caves. The cleft sealed over not long after a party ventured into the interior.

The hot springs scattered near Rhodonpyr are said to have healing powers, this is a common belief in khartedemo and aigagros myth. As a result small temporary towns often spring up around the hot springs. As their temperature can vary quite suddenly, when the pools change from warm and relaxing to boiling and lethal the towns are abandoned.
