That is a deep cut there sir.

@Pareidollhouse: I know right? NIntendo would be God-Emperor of Gaming right now, even if they only had Mario along with Zelda.

@O Senhor Leetz: Wand of Gamelon?
O Senhor Leetz
When do you think we can expect the Legend of Link? It's the Hyrulian timeline when Gannon gets smart and kidnaps the Hero of Time first.
Pareidollhouse
I would need to get a new head, because my old one would be all over the walls.

Hey that is simply not true... Mario Odyssey, which is coming out at the end of the yea- Ok, fine. Breath of the Wild is the only reason to buy a Switch. Imagine if they would have had Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, and BotW all in the same month...
Pareidollhouse
TRUE FACT: The only thing about the Switch that matters is Breath of the Wild. They did that right, therefore they did the Switch right.

Is anyone else concerned about the Nintendo Switch?
The conference they held did a few things right, but it didn't do enough in my opinion.[/ic]

So lets keep this careening hype-train chugging,

@O Senhor Leetz: Hey I want a Zelda game that has Zelda as the protagonist, I just don't want it to be a traditional one. Giving her the master sword is a cop-out. If it were up to me, I would go with a Stealth game that used her "Sheik" powers, and mixed it with some other stuff. And if I were going to go nuts, make a Sheika-punk setting with all of this magitech stuff they've been putting in since Majora's Mask.

Things I hated from the conference:
#1 The main thing that disappointed me about the presentation is the Japano-centrism of the third party titles. I'm not against Japanese games, but it would have been nice to see more stuff from western developers. FIFA, and Skyrim are not enough. Maybe, fingers-crossed, there well be another conference directed at western audiences that addresses western concerns.

#2 Another thing that really bugged me was the Joy-Con emphasis. All they literally had to say was "Not only can these turn into a traditional controller, these are also basically upgraded Wii motes, but this time we have this new thing called HD Rumble that can simulate several different senses and objects including Cow Utters!." Then show off 1,2, Switch, and ARMS (Which looks fun by the way, I don't care what anyone on here says), which would have been enough to drive the point home. The point of the switch is that it's a Tablet and controller that can turn into a tv console or a handheld and be played absolutely anywhere (*SNARK MODE ENGAGED*... where there's an electrical outlet). Maybe they felt the early reveal trailer got the point home enough they didn't need to get the point across in this one.

Things I liked about the presentation:

#1 Killer App is coming out day one. I really do believe that 75% of the preorders that are going up are due to BotW. That's a big deal.

#2 There's a new IP! Like I said before, ARMS looks fun. Hopefully, there's more to it, or the price is reasonable.

#3 Splatoon is a proper sequel, not a port, and this was something I was worried about. Even if it is coming in summer.

#4 The games in general are pretty solid, and I know the showing was pretty poor at the conference, but Nintendo said this was just a sampling and that there's more coming in this tweet. Hopefully there's more coming out at the beginning, but this conference gave me a nasty case of the skepticals.

Or have Zelda go full Boudicca and lead a massive army against Gannon!
Let's go teach these monkeys about evolution.

Being too expensive and there not being enough games means it'll be easy to actually get one on launch day!

Actually that would be cool. Apply that nintendo magic to the RTS genre. Worked for Shoot em'ups

Eh I feel they could've done worse. $250 would have been amazing, but for me $300 was the absolute maximum. So I wasn't disappointed. But you're right about the lack of software (or at least with the software they've revealed so far). Even with BotW coming day one on the system, that's only going to carry you so far.
