In that case we should start working on characters. Is there enough info in the game thread to start building them? Do you need any suggestions for any aspects?

I'm probably going to be going with Lisette, though somewhat more experienced of course, with it left a little vague what happened to her so we can fill that in as needed.

I was thinking maybe Warlock or Sorcerer, though I'll also ask since you were bouncing around the ideas before; how do you feel about using variant material like Spheres of Power or Path of War?

Hibou

I think since this is just a shorter game, we'll stick to standard rules for now. If it evolves into a more involved campaign, I would probably like to incorporate Spheres of Power.

Magnus Pym

I'm not sure if I can make it, but if I can I'd like to play.

I was thinking making a caster. If sparkletwist is going for a more offensive caster maybe I can be a support-healer type of caster. A cleric, perhaps.

Hibou

I've pulled the Cleric as an available class (along with the Paladin) mostly due to the removal of alignment. If you would prefer to play a support type with healing abilities, I would recommend the Oracle or Druid.

There are ways to make the Cleric work without being shackled by the alignment system by basing things on "undead" and "not undead" or stuff like that, but if you don't want to mess with it too much, yeah, probably best to toss it.

What do you think about Arcanists?

Actually, the Arcanist is pretty cool. I know I've looked at it before, but must've never really gone into detail. I'll add it to the list of available options. I've mostly stayed away from the other hybrid classes (other than shaman) because for the most part I felt that they either added yet another semi-magical warrior class, or that had ability combos that were just not in tone with the setting.

The only timeslot where everyone lines up thus far is from 3-7PM (eastern) on the 29th, so we'll go with that. We'll go from there and see if there's any other opportunity.

So I'm going to be playing as a archery-focused Ranger. Should I consider membership in the Kang Tracker's Guild?

That'd work well. Keep in mind that the Ranger defaults to Skirmisher or Trapper archetype by default (depending on your preference), but it won't have any negative effect on the archery part. I'll send you a PM with some details on the Tracker's Guild, as I don't think I'll have it posted to the main thread quite yet.

Do we get standard gold for 3rd level characters or something else?

I'm still in for the record. I'm probably going Skald. I love the idea of a Barbarian that plays a flute for some reason.

[ic=Yarek, son of Darek]

Human Ranger (skirmisher) level 3

Yarek is the youngest of five brothers, sons of the woodsman Darek. Like his father and elder siblings, he is a skilled tracker and hunter of game, and has been accepted into the Tracker's Guild. His family lives in a cabin in the wilderness 5-6 days' ride from Ravenkeep, but all of the brothers range far from home on their treks, visiting the various villages and towns of Kangdemar to sell pelts and hear the news.

Yarek's hair is an extreme light blonde, almost snow-white, and his eyes are cold icy blue. Like his siblings he is built tall and robust, but is lauded as the most fair looking of them all. He always carries a strong bow and one or more quivers at hand, and is quite proud of his skill at archery. Yarek dons the guild's surcoat when doing official business with them. Normally he wears practical clothes made from mastodon wool and leather, although he includes an archery bracer adorned in red and black stripes to signify his membership.

Magnus Pym

I won't be able to make it today, after all. Grrrr.

Though I'll change my availability for tomorrow on the doodle.
