Memory Fading PbP Chapter One: A Day After Fire

I know we're uninvited, but I'm pretty sure they won't mind.[/ic]

He chuckles to himself as he quickly dismounts and leads his horse over to a shed next to the house.  He begins a quick rub down of the horse, then grabs his pack and runs into the old brick house.

[ic=Naoise]"Well," Naoise says as he dismounts, "Dey might mind."  He leads his mount over to where Cecil left his.

He turns to the others as he walks inside, "No point in standing in the feckin' rain, lads."  He has his hand on the hilt of his sword as he follows Cecil inside.[/ic]

[Darkxarth]

[ic=Fizz] "Sigh, I suppose we don't really have much choice.  Unless anyone brought a tent?" Fizz dismounts, makes sure his horse his well secured in the barn, and follows Cecil inside, hoping that whoever is inside isn't opposed to trespassing.[/ic]

[Captain Obvious]

[ic=Dura] "I guees no rain is better than rain. We should stop here. It nice plan."
He dismounts his horse and tells Koda to go feed himself, then heads into the building with the others.[/ic]

[Numinous]

[ic=Timothy "Gray"]He dismounts and secure shis horse as the others did, then follows carefully, ensuring that he is the last one to enter the building, if at all possible.[/ic]

[Furor]

[ic=Crow]Crow ties his horse next to gray and collapses onto the floor once he finishes unrolling his bed[/ic]

I know it doesn't seem as though we need guards, but I think it would be a good idea if we took turns watching.  I'll take the last watch for sunrise.[/ic]

[Darkxarth]

[ic=Fizz] "Oh, right, abandoned.  I can take first watch, I suppose.  How long before I should wake up the next person?" [/ic]

[Furor]

[ic=Crow]"never" comes a grumbled complaint from crow, but then he says "six of us, every hour and half, i'll go next" [/ic]

[Captain Obvious]

[ic=Dura]"I will take the midnight watch. I must be awake them to speak with my ancestors already, so it is of good sense I watch then."[/ic]

[ic=Naoise]"Well den, I'll mind second-to-last.  Be sure to be sure to wake me up, like."[/ic]

[So-Keher]

[ic=Cyyn]"Put me in too, I can go anytime, as I have no need fro sleep."

[ooc]Sorry for the late posting I was out of town all week to go to a fundraiser and didn't have my computer.[/ooc]

You are greeted by a gray dawn, with plenty of clouds overhead to foreshadow more rain.  Cecil is not inside the house, but you can hear him whistling to himself outside, wandering around somewhere close by.  In the light of day, you can see things more clearly in the house now, and it is definitely obvious that whoever lived here left with only a moment's notice.  In the main room (which is apparently a bit of both a kitchen and a living room), a scythe for cutting weeds, as well as a pair of work boots, lays discarded right inside the door, as though whomever had rushed inside didn't have time to put them up.  A chest at the end of the room stands open, with a blanket half pulled out.  There are two closed doors, one on each side of the room.  Outside, Cecil can still be heard whistling, and the horses are beginning to stir.

Guys, I will probably post once on Friday during the day, and that will be it for over a week.  To make up for it, and to get us to a stopping point that I had planned, I'll be posting several times today and tomorrow, so for those of you who are here often throughout the day, feel free to tag along.  Of course, I work until 6:00, but after that, I will be around, posting and such, while packing for my honeymoon.[/ooc]
