Wow. Lots of responses. I'll get those other settings into the applications list ASAP.

As for actually providing feedback to the author, I don't know how better to do that than to ask questions about the setting based on what we've read in real time.

I agree completely with what Nat20 said, and I still believe this to be a useful tool for the author as well. If we can accomplish both of those, so much the better.

And no one said we wouldn't be doing just enough to get one in each issue of the guide. It is the best way to get the word out about the setting, but no one says that we can't do them more often than the guide and simply build up a reserve of them. You should remember that setting up a time that four people can get online for an hour will be difficult; we're only human. I realistically can't see this happening more frequently than once a month anyhow.

Hey, great idea here. This could be an excellent way to give a campaign setting some spotlight time outside our regular flow. I for one think I'd be more likely to get into a setting when I'm presented to it through the Guide than when I have to work my way through a forum thread, whether or not it has a nice summary/introduction at the start.

That said, I'm not sure if you guys are accepting projects that are "on hold" (as in, I'm not actually really working on the setting anymore, though I do play a campaign in it currently and might continue working on it in the future), but if you do, Orden's Mysteries is definitely up for it.

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. I can appreciate that working out a time to get everyone online at once for a chat interview might be challenging. Might it be useful for you guys to create a brief, simple questionnaire for the designer to fill out in advance? You know, just to get the basics out of the way. That might help to get the right questions asked during the interview, and make best use of your chat time.

The problem with the generic survey is that it doesn't really help the author all that much; the basic questions probably won't pose any new thought processes. We want to make the interview as tailored to the setting as possible while still having it make sense to outside readers.

And I think we would like to try and keep to active settings so that we can put the advertising aspect to its best use. No real sense in showing off a setting that may or may not still be active.
