ok,  heres the real answer to the problem.
most of us are probably doing our posting in the quick reply.  well, the quick reply is not a WYSIWYG editor, so it doesn't retain line-spacing or anything like that beyond the first posting.

EX: i post with quick reply. --> goes straight to database, with  spacing setup by the quick reply editor. then you edited it, and it goes to an html(wysiwyg) editor, and its not prepared for the previously defined spacing so it fails to retain the previous spacing by the quick reply.

so, if you know html, you can put the proper styling on your post with the quick reply....Ã,  but its not going to do it for you.

I thought Ish said something about site hosting here a while ago, before the forums were put up.  I never saw nor heard anything about it since the move, so I'd pretty much given up and started putting my CS up on a thread.  Is this still in the works?

i'm assuming the user-content plugin just got shoved aside due to other stuff.

dagg, is the quick-reply linebreak issue fixable? can we do a string-replace to convert \n  to â,¬Â¹br â'žÃ¢,¬Âº, or something?

probably... :-),  but theres not telling how deep in the code you would have to go to find the correct section.

This really is a project that I'm working on, but unfortunately, it's a project that was bigger than I expected; quite frankly, the User Journal option is a fizzle, because the User Journal Plugin for e107 just plain sucks.Ã,  However, i'm actually in the works with 3 other people at the moment who all need the same thing I need: a way to host little mini-sites on e107 that each user can administrate on their own.Ã,  We're not quite building something from scratch, but we're definitely having to put a little backbone into it, so please be patient and bear with me, and I promise, this option will be available.

Cheers!

I sure would love to see the blog kind of thing that was, at least for me, the main reason for supporting this move.

A minor bug report: as an IE user, I still get a bad image link right between the avatar and the post count of users.

Thanks for everything Ish, and keep it up!

"Then shall the last battle be gathered on the fields of Valinor. In that day Tulkas shall strive with Melko, and on his right shall stand Fionwe and on his left Turin Turambar, son of Hurin, Conqueror of Fate; and it shall be the black sword of Turin that deals unto Melko his death and final end; and so shall the Children of Hurin and all men be avenged." - J.R.R. The smileys are buggy.
The one I just tried to use in a post turned up as that annoying little box.

CYMRO

And why did you take the quote tags out of the reply options.
Sometimes I want to throw a bit of quotation from multiple sources in one reply.  The quote wraps make it easy.  Not having them SUCKS.

i think brainface is going to work on the quick reply line spacing bug.

@nat 20,  could you discribe the new post icon problem you're having ?

Seems a bit odd that I have the quote tags button available if I comment on a front page poll, but not when I reply in a thread.
Yes, I can use the html code, but it is not as userfriendly as the quote button.Ã,  And user friendly is supposed to be the frelling point.

And the smileys are still buggy.

Numinous

I'm not sure whether the problem is still present, as I am not at home now.  But the new posts problem was when a post I posted, or have already read was indicated as new after a logout or brief absence from the forums.
