Red Valor Glossary Project: I could use some help.

I posted a brief plea for assistance a short while ago on the main Red Valor thread, but due to lack of any real response, I decided to rethink exactly how to approach this.

Firstly, let me explain. One of the main complaints that I've heard about the Red Valor setting is "namedropping"-- that is, there are so many interwoven references that it can be nigh unreadable for beginners (heck, even those familiar with the setting). It's a valid criticism, and I've thought of a way to rectify it: a glossary.

I can spot a few proper nouns here and there, but of course, my eye is too well-adjusted to spot the majority of things that outsiders need defined. For the benefit of the community and anyone who wants to read my work, I'm asking any member who's interested to help me compile a list of people, places, names, nations, events, and other information that could be easily defined within a glossary, something far too daunting for a single person (even me!) to try.

And I'll sweeten the pot. Besides a special thanks on the glossary page itself, I'll give anyone who significantly contributes (more than just a name or two, please) a special badge, different from my usual setting badge.

Gaze upon it for yourself:

My website: http://www.freewebs.com/red_valor/

So, anyone up for it? :)

EDIT: The more people that want to work on this, the easier it would be to divide up the work. F'r instance, somebody could look through the History for important events and people, someone could look through the Project 1301 nations, etc. Again, I really really appreciate any help. :)

Just starting on the History page, Buronian Age (and I'm picking things that don't seem to have other references or links, and just stand - from what I can tell - alone on the history page):
Hiru Mentalli
Kingdoms of the Forge
Zantorus
Jsuvyian tribe
War(s) of the Sacred Lands
Ivan Pentaal (I really want to hear more about this guy)

I'll do more later, about to head home from work.

ElDo, I tried to check out the site again (it's been a while), but all the links didn't work.  Since it was all of them, I'll assume it's a temporary issue with Free Webs, not the site.

In lieu of my getting to read actual material, I'll share my own experience with creating a Kishar glossary.  Early on, I decided I should have a separate Cast page from the glossary, because, while I thought I should provide a reference for all characters on the site, if we begin adding every person mentioned to glossaries, the pages would grow too quickly.  Eventually I also created a bestiary index rather than adding an entry for every creature in the Kishar bestiary.  You might find such indexes with brief explanations and links to whatever page describes the term in full helpful.

One thing I did was cruise through the site on one window, with my editor open in another, and make a note of every term I made up or redefined.  I'd say it's worth doing so, partly because people may not realize I use a term in a different way than they are used to (also why I generally try to link such terms to the glossary).

Anyway, I'll try to check tomorrow to see if FreeWebs has fixed whatever was going on and maybe I can be more helpful then.

I'll keep those considerations in mind, definitely.

Just an FYI, Freewebs has been randomly dropping and coming back up today. At the time of posting, it's up, but I plan on contacting someone either tomorrow or Wednesday and finding out what the frell is going on.

This is like playing Boggle! You have to make sure the someone else didn't already have a name you found!

I have put all the names from the previous posts in an Excel sheet and given credit to the person who posted it. If there was a duplicate to another I gave credit to them since they found it before I did.

Thanks. I figured an Excel sheet would be useful for you and anyone in the future who has some time to go through setting. If you type directly into Excel the auto complete will let you know if someone has already put that name in. Of course if you type it a bit different (The Second Clockwork Army vs Second Clockwork Army, The) it won't auto-pop.

I love Excel.

Added some more names from the Fiction section. Also got rid of a few duplicate entries that I missed last time. I think, though I could be wrong, that is the majority of the Proper Names.

Hope this helps you work on the world. It is a fascinating to read about the fiction is excellent.

I guess right now we can't upload files, but I have the Zip file ready to go.
