*I would like 4 players, but if more or less join, I can work with it.
*Start with 4th level characters.
*Standard D&D ability roll.
*Wealth at 4th level is 5,400 gp; you can spend up to a quarter of that, or 1,350 gp on a single item.
*Though I haven't covered this yet in the Threads thread, the only allowed races are humans and elves.
*If you can come up with a simple background or even just motivations for your character, that would be nice.  However, since Threads is threadbare, I'm not expecting much here.
*I'd prefer if you host your characters at one of the various 3eProfiler sites, like Myth-Weavers, but anywhere is fine.[/list]
If you want to use non-System Reference Document material, please let me know; in most circumstances it should be fine.  The only outright ban is on Tome of Battle material; since I don't own it and haven't read it, I'm not comfortable using it.

Once I see the kind of response I get on this thread, I will post a bit of an exposition.  In reality, the whole exposition is the biggest change from the real-life version I am running, because I was introducing Dungeons and Dragons to four new players, whereas here, it is a safe assumption that most of you have some previous experience with the system.

I couldn't think of a decent introduction, so let's just jump in once everyone is ready:

You thought the old man was just senile for spouting a hackneyed line like that, but upon your entry, you can see the old man was right; Moira's Caravan district is one of the seediest places you have set foot in.

The bouquets of various draught animals wafts through the air, along with the scent of fresh rainfall, despite the midwinter snow on the ground.

People mill about despite the cold, most on business, but a few others in similar professions as yourselves.  The few who actually conduct business wholly within the district seem to run four kinds of businesses: houses of ill repute, resellers of goods with no questions asked (by the buyer, anyway), "reward" collection agencies (the "reward" being bounties and payments, among other things), and inns.[/ic]
