A Homebrew Outline

I'm using the real world as World Class Inspiration.  Essentially, you're correct, but I'm using the real world as inspiration at this point.  For instance: The period covered by Genesis 10 is very sketchy, since Genesis 10 only gives a table of Nations and not what each nation is doing.

So, I found some interesting websites that make both factual and wild claims about that time period (it's very, very Dark, the time between 2700 B.C. and 2,000 B.C.), since Mankind had to redevelop writing.  I needed something to get the nations to the Renaissance and Post Renaissance.  But I need to also know how they got there.  Wild claims of Men genetically creating Giants of themselves to conquer the world, make a good plot point as any.  Therefore, there can be a people as bloodthirsty as the Kurgan from Highlander (movie) ever was.  But I needed a reason why they got that way, and Legend says that there is two Spiritual Princes: Azael and Smazja.  So, dragons work as good as any.

The Black Plague was spread by a Little Ice Age that spanned between 1250 A.D. to 1900 A.D.  The Black Plague made 1/3 of the Population of Europe die.  I thought, to get people using guns quickly with Magic and Armor is to make it linked to the Undead.  In Warcraft III, the Scourge was created so that the Burning Legion can take the World Tree in Kalimdor.  In my world, Azael and Smajza were defeated but they themselves became undead.  Azael became a Wraith, and Smajza became a Dracolich.  So, the Undead is linked to a Black Plague, and is just another attempt to take over the world by these Dragons.

But inspiration comes from WoW, Eberron, and the Forgotten Realms.  But the major pattern of inspiration is the Time Period between Elizabethian England to the 3 Musketeers to the Early 18th Century (King Charles the First of England). The Geography of the World is significantly diffferent.  Massalia, for instance (Greek name for Marseilles) juts in a warm sea like an eagle's talon.  Caithness is a collection of islands that form a rough triangle or mound.

So, yes, you are right: but only to a point.

and to answer your question: I don't know yet how much magic exists.

But the WoW p&p RPG solves a lot of problems already.  They have stats for fire arms, and more monsters to use. And since the WoW RPG is d20/OGL, it uses the Dungeons and Dragons rules.  So it's simple to make a few cut and pastes when I make the document.

Why do you have # or * or other symbols next to some monsters? Why make a list at all, when it seems to include most of the MM? Would it not be easier to say what core stuff you don't want?
