Quote from: Log of Capitan Matvkyr[note]The ship similar to a baghlah, and is crewed by about 20 sailors, including the Captain.

The sail that ripped, as well as the fore sail, was a lateen.[/note]Week 1, 5th Day:
We are well on our way. We lost sight of land two days ago and are in the open ocean.

Week 2, 3rd Day:
This is why sailors of old feared open ocean voyages; the navigator left me with one horrifying piece of information: the stars are becoming unreliable, and we may be lost. I pray to the Gods not.

Week 2, 5th Day:
A storm started this morning and has only strengthened throughout the day. The storm is strong enough on it's own, but since we are in what appear to be shallows, it is all the stronger. The passengers and even the crew are worried. So am I.

Later:
The aft lateen ripped while we were taking it down during some particularly bad gusts. We can stitch up the tear temporarily, but we are going to have to buy a new one.

Week 2, 7th Day:
We think we may have spotted land at dusk, but cannot be sure until first light. The storm has calmed, but there are still heavy clouds, leaving the already unreliable stars invisible. We cannot even see the moons.[/ic]
[ic=Postscriptum]Before first light of the next day, the ship wrecked among what appears to be a group of islands.

You are on, from as far as you can tell, the largest of a group of islands. You wrecked some ways out to sea on a reef, and the crew, including the captain drowned.  Somehow, you made your way to shore.[/ic]

Quote from: http://www.thecbg.org/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?34903Threads setting.  While information is limited, and I apologized, fit your character in as best you can.  Also, be creative; make shit up if you want to.  This is to hopefully get my design work moving again.

*I'm hoping for at least 4 characters, but am willing to go higher, as long as you participate.  For some reason, my other games have fallen apart via lack of participation, either on my part, or on the player's part.  Hopefully this won't happen this time.

*And the most important rule: keep it within reason.  It's free form, but that doesn't mean you can just do whatever you feel like.  If there is to be an approximate character level, I'd say around 2nd or 3rd level.
Could I play another form of people, and make their culture up as I go along? Just hypothetically, that is. I'd be happy to play a Kreshi, as they're very interesting and very detailed, but you said to make stuff up as you go along to help you jog your imagination, if you want. :P

Go for it.

I've got an idea for this, I'll have it fully developed in 24 hours.
My setting(s):
Why are my epic characters more powerful than the archfiends from the Book of Vile Darkness, the archangels from the Book of Exalted Deeds, and the Elder Evils from Champions of Ruin?

If you're playing epic, pause for a moment to laugh at WotC's farcical cosmic entity stats and move on. They aren't there to be taken seriously. Trust me. They aren't even suitable for use as avatars. -WotC Epic Boards, Epic FAQ

Nobody can tell... hell we can't even tell if he actually exists -Nomadic, talking about me.

Dwight: "Fearless, Alphamale, Jackhammer...... MERCILESS!"

I'd be up for playing, I waited the first day becuase I wanted to see the other concepts, but since it seems that wait is going to be quite lengthy, I'll try and get a guy up by the  end of the night.
You want chars posted here, or PMed to you, or what?
To save myself time, I will never say IMO. Unless I say in fact before something, that means it's my opinion.

I'm sorry, I always say, Hey! I'll join, then I never get around to doing a character for some reason. I will try to remembetr this time, but if more people join, don't wait for me.

I'm willing to join, I already have a character in mind.  Unfortunately I'll be writing a paper all day tomorrow, so I might be joining a tad late.
Thrice I've searched the forest of sanity, but have yet to find a single tree.

Belkar: We have a goal?
Roy: Sure, why do you think we're here?
Belkar: Well, I just figured we'd wander around, kill some sentient creatures because they had green skin and fangs and we don't, and then take their stuff.

Meh.  Take your time.  It's been up for almost a month now.  A little bit longer of a wait isn't a problem.

Wensleydale

Oops.

I kind of forgot all about this, I'll have my character concept up soon. Sorry Limetom!

AllWillFall2Me

OK, here's my concept.
Saerun is a Kreshi Auarh, exiled from his family for murder. In the modern terminology, it'd be called manslaughter, but his family exiled him for it in any case. Saerun has always been a devout follower of Saetheg, a fit hunter with a charming personality, well-liked in the tribe. He seemed on the fast course to an important position in the tribe, but tragedy befell his wedding. His second-cousin by his mother's father's mother was an attractive woman, and most in the tribe believed they would be a good match. However, some voiced their concerns, as, if Saerun had one flaw, it was his quick temper. He always apologized, and it had never been a great flaw, but he was known for acting rashly in anger. Alcohol never helped the problem, and eventually spelt his doom. It was the third day of his wedding, and there was a great deal of celebration in the tribe, the two newlyweds were acknowledged by all present to be the picture of happiness. It seemed that the concerned voice were wrong, that it would all pan out. Then Saerun's intoxicated brother made one too many risqué jokes about the wedding night. Had Saerun himself been sober, nothing would have come of it but laughter. As it was, he took offense at a mis-interpreted slight on his new wife, and struck his brother in the face. his brother fell down, and didn't get back up. It seemed that, in his drunken anger, Saerun had struck too hard, and killed his brother. Saerun was morified by his actions, and fled his family in the night, choosing to not force the exile to come. He ran to the nearest port, and took the first ship that was leaving.
Saerun is so freshly Auarh that it hasn't set in by the beginning, and he will think of himself as a traditional Kreshi for at least the next few weeks.
To save myself time, I will never say IMO. Unless I say in fact before something, that means it's my opinion.
