[note=creature rank]
I run a skill based system where levels are kept in eac skill.  SO what is Creature Rank?  Creature rank is an approximation for me to use that lets me know that an NPC is at a certain skill laevel.  Rank 2 for the orcash and kobold means that probably 2-3 of their combat skills are actually level 2 and probably one is at level 3.
[/note]

[note=FratrerCanis]
in the height of the Venolvian sea-king Empire, when they were centered on Steel Isle and Coom Isle, the Artificers and Animists joined together to create a few special servants.  Few survive now, considered mad experiments of the insane Korang, chief artificer for the Venolvians.
However, the Dog Brothers (Fratrercanis) they created were hardy and strong.  A race of upright dog-men, they were, as Korang called them, Noble Ogrillites.
The FratrerCanis are rare, mainly still living on the Steel SIle and the western edge of the Grey March.  They are quick, but not too strong.  However, they were not created for combat.  they are smart and generally selfless, and they were created to be mages.  As such, they are more often mages than most other races.

Old, evil, twisted, damaged, and afflicted.  Orbis non sufficit.Thread Murderer Extraordinaire, and supposedly pragmatic...\"That is my interpretation. That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

Still finishing the barracks--these are the notes on the entrances

1-7a Entrance to the Barracks
Creatures coming down this corridor from the east will feel a slight increase of the temperature.  There are 2 lanterns on the wall and a firepit, so the barracks (1-7) is very well lit.  Creatures with decent olfactory abilities will smell all the bodies and wood smoke.

1-7b Grand entrance to the Management Suite.
A closed pair of brass-bound darkwood doors (gwynnellian winter-oak), extremely thick, pressed-layer doors (2' thick).  There is a brass, flower-shaped (yes, irin flower) doorknob on both sides.  There is no lock on the door, but the north side can be barred, and would take 40 hp and has a prot of 15 if barred to break dowen.  STR CC '"45% would also do the trick.  Bilow and his leaders are normally up here, but the soundproofing is excellent.
The brass binding has fern tracery if anyone looks closely.  Very high craftsmanship.

1-7c Westward-ho!
This is the western corridor going to the kitchen, and to the way down to Koplow's area.  There are many tracks going this way, and there is a torch on the north wall part way down.

1-6  The Room of Brass
This is a waiting/sitting room for 1-5.  This room has the same ceramic floor tiles as has been seenin the rooms before it.  The north and south edges of the ceiling are rounded, and the total ceiling height is 9'.
There is a black iron double sconce on the east wall, almost 3' tall (and mounted 3' up the wall), very fine old Orbic/Harnic make, mounted with huge white pillar candles, that provide a great deal of warm light.  The center of the unit has a regal, stylized Lion's head, with nearly human features.

[note=sconce of amplification]
wall sconce has been permanently enchanted with 'Amplify lesser light source' cast at level 8, so the light of each of these candles is multiplied by 2.8, making it as bright as torchlight.
Human/lion's head emblem from old Orbic family/clan 'Hastencia', used to be centered in northern Orbi, formerly members of the old Arcanic Table there, absorbed by Clan Antroo back in ~405 R.O.N. lore-15% to know.
weight =305, masterwork, worth 175 horn, +magic=795 total gold horn worth [/note]
In the middle northern part of the room is a large, solid Ferriswood table, very dark and well polished and ornate.  On it is a very accurate map of the Earthwood area, including the northern plains and the Kerusad plateau complex (a larger Zyjmanese stronghold, also in an old Astrikon ruin)
More coming later.
