I love the topography of this meta-archipelago! Is this the entire planet? (Not sure of scale.) This place looks like seafaring would be primary regarding transportation and trade and would lend itself extremely well to maritime themed gaming.

VERY nicely done.  If this is going to be referenced often, though, might I suggest using different colors for landmarks?  (I mean not yellow for two different things.)  That gets confusing.

@Snargash Moonclaw - No, this is only one continent. There are 3 others know, with a possibility of 1-2 more as yet undiscovered.

@Ninja D! - This was actually an experiment, I probably will not even use it for anything. But I understand where you're coming from.

Thanks both of you for your comments.

You, sir, are far more skilled than I.  Your "experiment" is equal to at least a week straight of work out of me.

I've got a really great map of my world, but it's 20+MB and I can't find any place to put it up.  Shrinking it makes it unreadable: the town names turn into little red splotches.

Le sigh.

deviantart puts up to thirty megs.

Have you tried a different format?

Here it is... all 23 megs of detailed goodness.
Dear god, man, the detail is maddening.  All CC3, or did you enhance with other programs?

All CC3.  My computer moves like molasses whenever I edit it, but I'm pretty much done with editing. Rendering that JPG out of CC3 took almost 20 minutes.

CC3 is capable of wonderful things, if you have the eye and the patience for it.  The problem is the basic things they give you look awful unless you work at it a lot, as you have.

JackOfTales

Moniker, that map is gorgeous! It makes me want to go make a pretty CC3 map of my city and surrounding area..now if only I could make decent city maps with CC3

Edit: All of these are great. Some of the handdrawn ones are fantastic. Wish I had that level of skill.

Acrimone, I love the detail in your CC3 map. That program really does have some great abilities.

Ninja D!, I always thought the default stuff looks pretty good to me. It looks like alot of what Acrimone used was default images in it. Making your own terrain types is fairly easy and helps out a bunch though.

Okay, a scan of a had-drawn map:

That is the current map.  Here's the key:
A: Terran Empire
B: Freeland
C: Arcanum
D: Grand Khanate of the Halflings
E: Aelfheim
F: Known Goblinoid Lands
G: Beast Lands
H: Dwarven Mountains/ Svartaelfheim
I: Unknown/ Unexplored/ Undeveloped
J: Barbarian Humans (mostly)
K: Jotunheim
L: Fabled, Long- Sought Elven Homeland Across The Sea
M: Fabled, Long- Sought Human Homeland Across The Sea
This is kind of my basic starting point at the start of the campaign.  A lot os stuff marked I will get filled in as players go there.  It's very sketchy on physical geography because it's zoomed out so far that I don't think much other than oceans and big mountian ranges would remain the same kind of teerian for a whiole 300 miles.

Related to my Temporal Anamolies thread, this is the southern third of the Continent of Celanta, note this is the same name as the goddess in Neubert's Build a City thread from a few months back.

I haven't divorced the idea of temporal anamolies, but may offer it as an optional thing. For now I am just working on the southern reaches of the continent map. Pretty much completed, though.
