The Vaniya link? Or Lath's celtricia link? Didn't think the Vaniya image was all that big?

CC: Vaniya was amazing. Needless to say, I have been inspired.

CC-The best thing about the Vaniya map are the short semi-hidden story vignettes :) That is a great touch.

agreed. I'm totally hijacking that idea and putting on the Arga map.

vignette: very short story. If you look in the sea you will see faded text, supposedly left in the margin of the map by the sages who made it, telling the tale of a spreading blight if I remember correctly.

A map of the broken verge universe in this style would be beyond awesome.

So I've been working on a new map for my Amalga setting. Here's the rough draft:

It was done all by hand! It took a long time but its worth it in the long run (even if I have a bazillion rivers to name now). :)

Somehow your single lake manages to intrigue me ^^
What's with the purple circles?
The circular ripple patterns along some of the coastlines look a bit off, but I guess it's work in progress and you are perfectly aware of them.

Huh, you're right I do need more lakes! Dunno where I can put them though o_O

About 190 years ago, 4 of the most powerful Archmagi gathered together to form the Council of Nymane, which tasked itself with governing both Arcane and Psionic magic. The Council used their magic to create their own country via levitating 5 massive discs whose land came from the southern portion of the continent. Years later, following a war, the Council combined the discs and created a new (if small) moon to call their own.  The purple rings represent the magical after-effects of the levitation spell which altered the gravity within the rings - floating chunks of rock, massive sky-scraper-size trees and over-sized creatures, etc.

The Ripples actually represent islands that are commingled between the material and other planes. I'm not sold on the effect yet either.

Here's the last map for my first adventure for Kaidan. The assault on the town of Agoya. After a harrowing trek across a treacherous mountains pass, the PCs try to rest in the town of Agoya, however the protagonist, a hebi-no-onna (snake armed woman demon) arranges for an assault by a large band of bandits (nobushi) onto the town of Agoya. The PCs will need to lead the defense. The following map shows the GM the order, and direction the assault will be coming. Interesting how a battle map with arrows really makes the fight feel more real and impending.

Garden Shrine and Ruined Village Map, the first rest stop for the PC adventurers while trying to escape Lord Hachiwara's wrath. This is a part of the second adventure for Kaidan, called Dim Spirit. Lots of story development occurs in this ruined site. Note only two buildings are still standing and each one will be taken by the PCs or the merchant and his daughter to sleep for the night.

This is hand-drawn, digitally scanned then colored, beveled, shadowed and labeled in Xara Xtreme Pro 4.0.

Enjoy!
