I have been in a group that got snookered into playing cards with a Deck of Many Things.

The results were not pretty.

I was in a campaign that started the deck of many things at like lvl 4, ended up as lvl 12.  Well, everyone died except the guy who became lvl 12.  So, we all rolled lvl 12 characters.  Needless to say, it was quite interesting.
Thrice I've searched the forest of sanity, but have yet to find a single tree.

Belkar: We have a goal?
Roy: Sure, why do you think we're here?
Belkar: Well, I just figured we'd wander around, kill some sentient creatures because they had green skin and fangs and we don't, and then take their stuff.

Got to try that sometime. Deck of Many Things Poker in the local tavern...good times. My PCs will never trust me again. : )
Everybody falls, and we all land somewhere.
