[ooc]And so, the battle begins.  Initiative order is...
[spoiler=Initiative(Public)]23-Poseidon
22-DM
20-Ninja D!
18-DM
15-DM
14-DM
13-Seraphine
12-DM
10-DM
9-DM
8-Xeviat
7-Neubert[/spoiler]The main party consists of everyone but Ninja D![/ooc]
[spoiler=Main Party Only]Everyone, please ignore the watermark in the middle.
Xv=Xeviat
SH=Seraphine Harmonium
Nu=Neubert
Ps=Poseidon[/spoiler]
[spoiler=Ninja D! Only]
You'll have to tell me which enemies you want to attack and where you're moving, if you want more choices.  The X represents the one enemy you killed.[/spoiler]
[ooc]Features of the Area
Blank Squares: do not hamper movement or visibility
Rubble: is represented by the bluish-gray squares.  They provide concealment and cover for Small creatures hiding behind them.  A character cannot move into or through a square containing rubble.  A character can climb on top of a boulder with a DC 15 Athletics check and 4 squares of movement.
Foliage: is represented by the green, and consists of trees and bushes that provide normal cover for those attacking from the area.  Areas in green are difficult terrain, and take twice as much movement to travel through.
Gravestones:are the black horizontal lines near the center of the map, and provide cover to characters occupying their squares.
Rocky Outcrop: is represented by the black spaces to the north and south, which are 50 feet tall and require a DC 20 athletics check and 200 squares of movement to climb.[/ooc]

[ic=Brandis]
"They're Kobolds", Brandis answers Luminous, "and it looks as though they were setup to surprise anyone traveling down this road. Though they could be innocent and attacked by someone in the bushes over there"

Brandis decides to wait and see how this plays out.
[/ic]

[ooc]Action: Delay until any of the kobolds approach the group in a hostile manner or it otherwise becomes clear what is going on.

I couldn't think of any in game reason to just up and attack the kobolds with the information given...[/ooc]

[ic=The Scene]A Kobold (M.1) previously unseen by the party breaks from the cover of the rocks to the trees near the elven attacker.  It screeches some gibberish and hurls a javelin at the unknown elf.
[spoiler=If you speak Draconic]The Kobold yells, "It is the Hunter of Vengeance!  Kill Him!!!!"[/spoiler]
Attack vs. AC:[dice]1d20+2[/dice][/ic]
[spoiler=New map for Party][/spoiler]
[spoiler=New map for D!][/spoiler]
[ooc]If it hits, the javelin deals 4 damage.  Poseidon, you can go now if you wish.  If there's no word by 11 PM EST, I'll use Ninja D!'s action from his post, and then put you back into initiative order after him.

EDIT: Also, editing your post apparently does not change the results of a roll.  Good to know.[/ooc]

Xeviat

[ooc]Might I suggest putting a numbered and lettered grid on the map, so we can describe our movements better? "I move to A5" and what-not?[/ooc]
Endless Horizons: Action and adventure set in a grand world ripe for exploration.

Proud recipient of the Silver Tortoise Award for extra Krunchyness.

Poseptune

[ooc]Go ahead and use Ninja D!'s post. Unless the Kobolds coming up do something toward the main group Brandis will probably act after Seraphine[/ooc]

Ninja D!

[ooc]Now that I have a map, I can say I move to L17 and attack D.1 and D.2 (unseen by the others) and D.1 is the target of Hunter's Quarry.[/ooc]

Numinous

[ic=The Scene]The rest of the party sees the elf calmly stroll to a new position and open fire in their general direction, but his arrows fall short, precipitating angry shrieks from behind another pile of rubble to your Southeast.[/ic]
[spoiler=New map for main party][/spoiler][spoiler=New map for Ninja D!]
D.2 is grazed by your arrow, and it appears to be a trivial injury.  However, you miss D.1 and your arrow shatters against the rocks behind him.[/spoiler][ooc]I need sleep, I'll finish my turns tomorrow morning.[/ooc]

[ic=The Scene]A kobold darts out from behind the rubble to the north and flings an orb of baked clay at Luminous, then turns and runs behind the rubble further to the east.[/ic][ooc]A kobold appears briefly in square F-10 long enough to sling an attack at Xeviat, then runs east behind the boulders at D-13
Attack vs. AC[dice]1d20+6[/dice]
Damage[dice]1d6+3[/dice]
If the attack hits, Luminous is immobilized (save ends).[/ooc]
[ic=The Scene]Two brutish looking kobolds bearing shortswords and shields carved from dragon scales lumber out from behind the boulders to the south and adopt flanking positions around the elven attacker.  They act with grim martial precision as they unleash a carefully rehearsed attack on the now-surrounded archer.[/ic]
[ooc]The two kobolds have used their extra shifty abilities to maneuver into a flank.
Attack vs. AC[dice]1d20+10[/dice]
Damage[dice]1d6+3[/dice] and the target is marked until end of D.1's next turn.
Attack vs. AC[dice]1d20+10[/dice]
Damage[dice]1d6+3[/dice] and the target is marked until end of D.2's next turn.

Nally is marked by D.2[/ooc]
[ooc]I'm merging the maps now, too much effort to maintain separate maps.  It was fun while it lasted.  Poseidon, you can act on initiative count 14, which takes place now.  And now would be a good time for people to start putting their current hp and status effects into their ic tags.

Three of the smaller creatures creep forth and tumble into a formation before Talis En can react, jabbing with spears as they go.  A particularly dark colored one screeches a battlecry as they move.
[spoiler=If you speak Draconic]He yells "You, scaled one.  Why do you fight us and serve these pale-faces?  The dragon is rising, and he will judge you!"[/spoiler][/ic][ooc]Three kobolds shift and move, readying and delaying so that they all gain the benefits of flanking.  Their shifty abilities give them two shifts a turn, so they provoke no opportunity attacks.  Their final positions at the end of their turns are shown.
