[ic=Brandis]Brandis drops his crossbow and draws his blade. He moves forward and lunges at one of the kobolds surrounding the archer.[/ic]

[ic=Talis En]Talis finds himself, once surrounded, now with no enemies within arms reach.
"Haha!  See how our foes cascade from us?  Surely friends, victory is as good as ours!"

With no visible enemy at hand, Talis runs to where the confrontation is thick.  Joining with Roy and the mysterious ally, Talis sees that the archer is gravely wound.  Many bloody thoughts flash across his mind, and he charges the foes between him and this archer, not really thinking, acting on instinct.  He lunges bladefirst and the kobold, calling out what words of inspiration he can at the wounded ally.

"Courage, man!  Your wounds are not so bad!  Repay them full and twentyfold to make them scream!"[/ic]

[ooc]Talis moves diagonal 4 spaces to J16 and attacks D.1
Attack:  [dice]1d20+5[/dice]
Damage:  [dice]1d8+2[/dice]

I burn my minor action for the round using Inspiring Word on Nally. Nally can now spend a healing surge and add the following to the total number of hit points regained:
Inspiring Word:  [dice]1d6[/dice] [/ooc]

[ooc]After Inspiring Word...
HP 11
Marked by D.2
Arrows Used 3
Healing Surges Used 2

Thanks, I'm going not let this happen again.[/ooc]

[ic]For the second time in the battle the elf shakes his head and seems to be restored to strength.  He stands ready, pointing his arrow at a kobold as though the improvised weapon were a fine blade.
[spoiler=Elven]"I must not be used to fighting with others on my side."[/spoiler] he says with a chuckle.[/ic]

Xeviat

[ooc]My turn yet, or are there monsters still? This will be a placeholder post.[/ooc]

[ic=The Scene]

Brandis and Talis En close with the enemies in an attempt to finish the battle, however their foes are vigilant and manage to step away from the party's bloody intentions.

A single rather frightened looking kobold approaches Luminous and flings a javelin.[/ic][ooc]Hey guys, these kobolds have an ability that allows them to freely shift when an opponent moves adjacent to them, so your attacks don't hit.  Feel free to use your remaining action to shift adjacent to their new positions, no penalty.

Xeviat, the attacking kobold  Attack vs. AC:[dice]1d20+4[/dice]  4 damage on a hit. [spoiler=What you see]The Slinger remains in the position cited on the last map, at 16-A[/spoiler]

Now, it is Xeviat's turn, followed by Neubert[/ooc]

[ooc]Brandis still had squares left on his movement. If they shift when he moves adjacent couldn't Brandis finish his move and then attack?[/ooc]

[ooc]I still had a square of movement as well.  If Brandis can finish, theoretically I should be able to as well.  Granted, that decision is up to you.  If that is not the case, I used all of my actions and am therefore unable to shift.

And if the little bastards can keep skittling away, how the devil are we supposed to kill the things?[/ooc]

{ooc]Use ranged attacks S_H. Or move adjactent to them and make sure you have extra movement to continue moving. Do we have a fighter to lock them down with a mark, keep them from shifting, or am I the only defender. Sorry I'm not doing my defender job here, I'm on my way.[/ooc]

[ic]"Leave here with your life you pathetic lizard-ling" Lumious says toward the ineffectual javelin throwing kobold. Luminous then leaves them behind and hurries towards the rest of the comotion, taking up a flanking position behind one of the shield-bearing kobolds.

Luminous then calls upon his divine power to challenge the shield-bearing kobold, and then finds a surge of energy to press the advantage and make an attack with a terrifying swing of his warhammer.[/ic]

[ooc]Double move to L14, using 7 squares of my 10 available movement. If the kobold shifts away, I'll continue to move after him.

Then I hit D.1 with Divine Challenge with my minor action, and spend my Action Point to gain an extra standard action in order to use Fearsome Smite against D.1.

Fearsome Smite: [dice]1d20+6[/dice] vs. AC. If hits, deals [dice]2d10+4[/dice] damage, and the target will suffer a -2 penalty to attack rolls until the end of my next turn (this stacks with Divine Challenge if it chooses to attack someone other than me).[/ooc]

[ic=Roy]Seeing the lacking effect of his ineffectual mace, Roy instead raises his holy symbol towards Brandis, the elf and the nearby kobold (D.2). As a white light shines out from it, Brandis and Nally feel strengthened in their attacks, but the kobold is seared by it.[/ic][ooc]Standard Action: Divine Glow (close blast 3, from L17 to N19, that should cover Brandis too, wherever he goes).
Ninja D! and Poseidon, you both get a +2 power bonus to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.
Divine Glow against kobold D.2: [dice]1d20+3[/dice] vs Reflex.
Damage: [dice]1d8+3[/dice] radiant.

Status: Untouched. Thanks Erathis![/ooc]

[ooc] I don't have ranged weapons, so I'd be reduced to picking up rocks, and Talis will not be disgraced so.[/ooc]

Talis En and Brandis doggedly pursue their foes, while Luminous charges to the rescue with a dramatic swing.  Roy Culate unleashes a blow of divine retribution upon the kobold foe while invigorating his allies.[/ic][ooc]In response to the issues with the Dragonshield, I am providing the text of it's ability. [spoiler=Dragonshield Tactics]Dragonshield Tactics (immediate reaction, when an adjacent
enemy shifts away or an enemy moves adjacent; at-will)

The kobold dragonshield shifts 1 square.[/spoiler]I have chosen to interpret this ability in a manner that while you may not use remaining squares of movement, your standard action was not used, and you can shift to remain adjacent to your enemy.  Also, if you use an action point right now, Seraphine and Poseidon, I'll let you keep your attack and damage rolls, as though you had attacked at the end of your turn, and shifted at the end of your turn.  Let me know if ou are cool with your new positions and this idea.

It is now Ninja D!'s turn.[/ooc]

Oh, I meant to say this when that kobold hit me with the firepot:

[ic]Luminous takes the sting of the sling stone with a wince. When the fluid catches on fire he laughs.

"Fire? Hah!"

Then he turned to intimidate the kobold minion.[/ic]

[ooc]And a save to end the fire damage, even though it won't hurt me. [dice]1d20[/dice][/ooc]

[ic]The elf spins and slides the arrow he had been using as an improvised weapon onto the string of his bow, followed by another.  He then aims, a process that seems almost instantaneous, and lets both arrows fly at the target before him.
[spoiler=Elven]"Die."[/spoiler][/ic]
[ooc]I name D.2 my Hunter's Quarry.
