I've noticed that quite a few of you have set up wikis for your campaign settings. Some hosted here, others elsewhere.

Why did you choose the wiki that you did? Are you happy with your choice?
One of these days I'll actually get organized enough to post some details on my setting / system.

LordVreeg

First off, the CBG wiki is the best in the world.  Period.

however, I chose to go with the PB wiki due to ease of use.  It uses a WYSISYG editor and imports tables and pictures quickly and seamlessly.  Even the page linking is more automated than in a traditional wiki.
As I have thrown up some 600 pages on the site, I can say I am quite pleased.

The downside is that you use more customizable stuff, you have to pay for it.  Custom CSS costs, as do many other features.

It is also nice that you can determine who has access and what kind of access they have.

Old, evil, twisted, damaged, and afflicted.  Orbis non sufficit.Thread Murderer Extraordinaire, and supposedly pragmatic...\"That is my interpretation. That the same rules designed to reduce the role of the GM and to empower the player also destroyed the autonomy to create a consistent setting. And more importantly, these rules reduce the Roleplaying component of what is supposed to be a \'Fantasy Roleplaying game\' to something else\"-Vreeg

mediawiki is my wiki of choice (hence its use in the CBG Wiki) because of the extensive array of extensions, add-ons, modules, and gizmos you can do with them.

For finite types, like human beings, getting the mind around the concept of infinity is tough going.  Apparently, the same is true for cows.

I use MoinMoin, partly because I manage my own web server and site and it was fairly easy to install, has lots of themes and modules, and I can tweak the source code and CSS myself if I need to.

This was arrived at after a fairly cursory search, so I'm not really making any recommendations.
My Wiki

My Unitarian Jihad name is: The Dagger of the Short Path.
And no, I don't understand it.

JackOfTales

I use Wetpaint but..that was just because it was better than whatever it was I started with. No idea what that is now. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to bring it over into the CBG wiki or not. I have no coding, format or design ability what so ever so making my wiki look nice and pretty is harder than it should be -_-

Steel General

I use Wikidot, but only because I had found it before I ever discovered this site, and it would be to much work to migrate everything over now.

@JackOfTales - you can always start with just getting the info over here, then worrying about pretty-fying it latre.

@Jack AND Steel - one great thing about wikis is that, being editable by anyone, people can help  you out too.  The transfer could just be a few minutes if some others pitch in, and everyone on the wiki is generally willing to help out with formatting and other issues.
