Numinous

Something you might consider is the that one theory behind the existence of marriage is the preservation of the patriarchy by binding men to women, and therefore their offspring.  Since you mentioned that family lineage is traced matrilineally(sp?), this might not be as much of an issue and the society could grow according to this significant difference.

Fey have bioluminescent hair, relating to emotions:

And no, the words are not involved.  They're just labels for the picture.

Might as well put up what I have:

Elves

Physical Description
At first glance, elves appear to be humans, apart for their long, pointed ears.  Elves are found all over the known world, but not in such great numbers as humans or even giants.  Elves call themselves ar Boudiged.

Elves tend to be just shorter than humans, with little variation between the sexes.  The general build of elves is much more slender than that of humans.  While to many, an elf's long, pointed ears might be their most distinguishing feature, their hair and eyes are also of note.  Hair colors among the elves tend to be muted, often appearing white.  Eye colors are found in a much wider range than that of humans, often similar to those of gemstones.  Additionally, elves' hair and eyes are ever-so faintly bioluminescent, a fact that is easily overlooked by non-elves.

Elven clothing is relatively simple.  Unlike the giants, elven clothing isn't 'primitive,' rather, most elves prefer to dress simply.  Some, however, cannot resist the chance to show off.  All in all, elven clothing varies like that of humans, from individual to individual.

Moar to come...

This is so you all pester me to do more in case I don't do more.

Regnu duSul
Regnu duSul is a small kingdom on the south of the continent, bordered to the south by the Sea of the Sun and to the north by the Blue Mountains, so-called for the bluish tint to the near year-round haze seen around the mountains at a distance.

Demographics
Approximately, Regnu duSul has 750,000 inhabitants, which can be split into two ethnicities.  The majority are the Sulians, relatively recently arrivals from the east and north, who migrated in along the coast of the Sea of the Sun.  The minority are the K'eaj, a remnant of an older group of peoples who retain their nomadic ways.  5% of the population are urban, and they are almost exclusively Sulians.  65% of the population is rural and settled, and are also Sulian for the most part.  The remaining 30% are itinerant, mostly composed of nomadic K'eaj herders.

Major Settlements
The capital of Regnu duSul is Cita diCoddin, which has approximately 14,722 inhabitants.  It is widely regarded as having the finest architecture along the Coast of the Sun, including the grand Castedd Real ("royal castle").  Further, it is one of the largest cities in the south, sprawling over several hills, from which it's name derives (that is, "the city of the hills").

The largest town is Cita diStedd, located about two days travel from Cita diCoddin, along the eastern border.  It has approximately 7,361 residents.

The next largest town is Cita diNiv, located about two days to the north and west of Cita diCoddin at the foot of the Blue Mountains.  While most of the Coast of the Sun receives little snow in the winter months, Cita diNiv and its 5,152 are up high enough and far enough inland to enjoy a much larger annual snowfall, relatively speaking.

The third smallest town is Cita n'aUnn, the largest city along the Coast of the Sun.  Its 3,864 residents have a mainly maritime economy, focusing on small-scale shipbuilding, fishing, and intra-regional trade.

Cita n'aMar is another coastal town, about a day's ride from Cita n'aUnn, where the Cium River empties into uMar duSul.  Similarly to Cita n'aUnn, its 2,318 inhabitants ply the waters, both of uMar duSul, but also river-trade along the Cium River as far north as the Blue Mountains.

The smallest actual town in Regnu duSul is Cita n'aOvest, located in the far west.  The closest city is Cita n'aMar, located about two days to the east.  Cita n'aOvest boasts a large military garrison, as the west of Regnu duSul is far from settled, and has a total population 1,738.

History
Stuff happened.

Government
There's a king, and junk.

Organizations
There's a couple of these thingies.

I almost have everything for Regnu duSul done.  It really at this point involves me finishing naming stuff and getting it from outline form onto paper, so to speak.

Bother me about it and I might do some more.  "Might" being the operative word.

If the sea and the mountains are both supposed to form the northern border, then you might want to rephrase the description for clarity. If not then you have a little error here.

What does "recent arrivals" mean? Given that they already outnumber the natives by such a large margin, it would seem that either they've already been around for a few generations, or they must have migrated to this land in very large numbers. The latter option would suggest that the nomads had to suddenly cede very large tracts of pasture to the settlers, which would likely spell bloody conflict.

What is the population of this city? And what is the lower end figure for a settlement to be considered a "city" in your setting? It seems that they can be pretty small indeed.

Medieval Demographics Made Easy[/url] made easy.  Looking back at that article, I misspoke when I called several of them cities.  Cita diCoddin is the only actual city, with the rest being towns.

Thanks for the checking.  I wrote this pretty quickly, pretty late at night, so there were of course going to be problems.
